Game of Thrones creators say a Season 8 trailer is coming, but they would prefer to not release one
On Sunday, HBO released an "official tease" containing new footage, but not from the final season. Creators/showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss say an official full-length trailer is coming, but they would have preferred to not release one at all. “(David Lynch) was saying he wished there were no trailers,” Benioff said when EW asked about the final season trailer. “And it’s true, you could just go into a movie and see something completely fresh.” Weiss added: "I wish there were no trailers. I just want somebody to say, ‘Trust me, go see this.'” An official trailer is, however, in the works, thanks -- at least in part -- to the duos experience seeing Westworld's trailer playing in a theater. Explains Weiss: “We went and saw Ready Player One with our kids and they played the Westworld trailer and it looked great. And we’re like, ‘Ah, we should do that.'”
