50 Cent to get the docuseries treatment on Hulu
Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson celebrated April Fool’s Day last week by posting a fake “Breaking News” TMZ story claiming that Hulu won a $75 million bidding war for a 50 Cent documentary. It turns out, 50 Cent is really getting a Hulu docuseries that will be produced through his G-Unit Film & Television production company. “The three-part series will tell Jackson’s story from starting out in Queens, getting shot by nine bullets and becoming one of the most successful rappers in the world, selling more than 30 million records,” according to Deadline. It’s not clear how much 50 Cent is being paid. According to the logline, the untitled docuseries will tell the “definitive” story of “50 Cent—from the streets of Queens to global cultural dominance—exploring how he relentlessly reinvented himself across music, business, and film while redefining the rules of power, influence, and success. Through an intimate and revealing lens, the series portrays a figure who has consistently transformed conflict and adversity into enduring cultural impact.”

Baywatch hasn’t been kicked off Venice Beach, but there has been some “small” issues
A report that Fox’s Baywatch reboot was booted from Venice Beach after two days of production isn’t true, according to LA Material’s Julia Wick. But there have been some issues revolving around the production’s footprint, including parking. “All of these things we expect to be able to resolve,” said Constance Farrell, a spokesperson for County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath, whose district includes Venice. A Fox spokesperson adds that filming on the premiere episode was completed last week at Venice Beach and the production planned to shoot at a number of Los Angeles County beaches, including Venice. “The knotty matter of jurisdiction is a complicating factor for any production filming at the beach,” says Wick. “In this case, the county oversees the actual beach, while the parking lots in use belong to the city. And the notoriously demanding California Coastal Commission is also involved in aspects of this production.”
