Ana Navarro can't bring up The View when she hosts Night 2 of the DNC
Navarro's appearance tonight has generated some scrutiny since, technically, she works for ABC News. But as Variety's Brian Steinberg reports: "Although The View operates under the aegis of ABC News, Navarro is not held to the same standards as its full-time journalists, because she is an opinion-focused contributor to the program, according to a person familiar with the matter, not a traditional journalist who is expected to avoid any potential appearance of bias. ABC News declined to make executives available for comment, but her role at The View is not expected to be referenced publicly." In addition to her The View duties, Navarro also works as a contributor to CNN. This morning, Navarro, a Republican, was moved to tears on CNN as she expressed excitement to "help my girl Kamala (Harris) accept the nomination." "I'm beyond myself to have this role today," Navarro said, pausing to collect her thoughts as she fought back tears. "Because I'm a little refugee girl who fled communism in Nicaragua. I just wish my mom was here to see it."
