Apple TV+ renews Loot for Season 3
The Maya Rudolph-led comedy, in which she plays a philanthropic billionaire, has been picked up for a third season weeks after its Season 2 finale on May 29. “With each season, Loot continues to deliver joy, laughs and endearing characters for audiences around the world,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We are excited to partner with Maya Rudolph, and the entire cast and creative team behind Loot, to create even more heartfelt moments with an ensemble of fan favorite characters in season three.” The renewal comes days after Rudolph, in an interview with The New Yorker, went into detail of her Molly character's extremely straight bob. "When we were talking about how she looked, it wasn’t a huge conversation," said Rudolph. "But I just feel like that sleek, empowered, f*ck-you, slightly c*nty bob is just perfect. Nobody’s hair just looks like that. It means you’re getting your hair done. Some of the choices that we make for Molly are about life style. She doesn’t have any grays, because she’s getting her hair colored and treated. At one point, we established that she had a salon in the house and people there 24/7, which I would hope, if you have that much money, you’d have that. We make these choices about Molly all the time based on our own lives and what we think billionaires live like, but we’re guessing."

Prince's estate is reportedly at a standstill with Netflix over a nine-hour documentary from O.J. Made in America Oscar winner Ezra Edelman
According to Puck News' Matt Belloni, Edelman — who won an Oscar and an Emmy for directing his nearly eight-hour 2016 ESPN documentary O.J.: Made in America — finished a nine-hour cut of his Prince documentary years ago. But because the original agreement called for the documentary to run six hours, Prince’s estate won’t sign off on the documentary. Edelman took over the documentary more than four years ago from Ava DuVernay, who was originally announced in 2018. Belloni adds that the disagreement is further complicated by Prince's estate being divided in two in 2022, resulting in him have to gain approval from both sides and that "this is mostly a control issue."
Why did Jon Stewart book Bill O'Reilly for tonight's first Daily Show since the Trump assassination attempt?
"Is this really the 'unity' America is craving right now?" asks Matt Wilstein of Stewart "giving the disgraced former Fox News host by far the biggest platform he’s had since his ouster from that network following revelations about multiple sexual harassment settlements seven years ago. The decision to book O’Reilly comes after The Daily Show bagged its on-the-ground coverage of the RNC in Milwaukee—and canceled Stewart’s regular Monday show—in apparent deference to Donald Trump following the attempt on his life over the weekend. O’Reilly, who has been mostly in the wilderness since leaving Fox, hosting a podcast and mildly popular YouTube program in the style of his old O’Reilly Factor primetime show, has a long and surprisingly friendly history with Stewart. The conservative host appeared on The Daily Show a whopping 13 times between 2001 and 2015 while Stewart was permanent host." ALSO: The Daily Show will air live Tuesday through Thursday, but Jon Stewart is expected to only host tonight's show.

Joe Scarborough slams NBC leadership for preempting Monday's Morning Joe
The MSNBC morning show was sidelined for ongoing coverage of the Trump assassination attempt, but CNN reported that MSNBC and NBC News bosses were fearful that Morning Joe guests would say something controversial. "We’ve talked about it off the air, we’ll talk about it on the air, because we talk about everything on the air,” said Scarborough, per The Hollywood Reporter. “We were told in no uncertain terms on Sunday evening that there was going to be one news feed across all NBC news channels yesterday… that was going to be one news feed across all NBC news channels, that we were going to stay as a network in breaking news mode throughout all day yesterday, that did not happen. We don’t know why that was that didn’t happen, our team, was not given a good answer as to why that didn’t happen. But it didn’t happen.” Co-hosts Mika Brzezinski and Willie Geist expressed similar frustrations.

Elizbeth Gillies says she watched Quiet on Set on FaceTime with Victorious co-star Ariana Grande, and they "reprocessed everything together"
"I certainly reevaluated my experience with Ariana over FaceTime," Gillies tells Variety. "We watched it together, and then we got together later that week or the next week, and we sort of broke the whole thing down and talked about it, and reprocessed everything together. There was a lot to go through. It’s tricky when you look back on something incredibly positively, and then you learn a lot of information and also revisit things as an adult through a new lens that reframe the memories in your mind a little bit, or cloud them, or taint them — maybe rightfully so. So, taking that time to thoughtfully look back, reassess and reevaluate was an important thing to do, and that’s something we did. I’m very lucky I have such a close relationship with my cast — and with Ari — and that we were all able to do that together, because we definitely leaned on each other, talked amongst each other and checked in with each other."
