The Emily in Paris star wrote in an Instagram post this morning, featuring pictures of her hospitalization, that she is "grateful" for her health after a case of tonsillitis "spiraled" into critical septic shock, which “infected and affected” several of her organs. "I am grateful that my health has improved despite what we had initially been told," wrote Park, who confirmed in the post she is dating her Emily in Paris co-star Paul Forman, who plays her on-screen love interest. "Grateful most of all to (Forman) for being unconditionally by my side through all this," Park wrote. "You calmed my fears and held me through ambulances, three foreign hospitals, a week in the ICU, scary ERs, countless scans and tests and injections, excruciating pain, and so much confusion all while we were alone on the other side of the world far from those we know. I love you Paul. More than I can ever say." After thanking the medical staff, Park wrote: "I hesitated to share what’s been happening as I’m still in the throes of recovery…but I now know I’m safely on the other side of the worst. Thanks for reading this. Im sorry for being so absent recently to so much and to people in my life. I love you all. I’m healing and I promise I’m gonna be okay." Park's Emily in Paris co-star Lily Collins shared an emotional reaction in the comments: "I can hardly look at these without crying,” wrote Collins. “I love you sister and I’m forever grateful you’re on the other side of this and for (Forman) for your incredibly huge heart and for being there every step of the way. Number of scripted series fell from 633 in 2022 to 418 in 2023
Research firm Ampere Analysis found a 24% drop in the number of scripted shows amid the Hollywood strikes and pushback in content spending. The bulk of the decline in 2023 was due to subscription streaming services releasing 77 fewer seasons than the prior year and broadcast TV networks releasing 55 fewer seasons," says Variety's Todd Spangler. "Broadcast releases have been falling slowly for many years, but the drop in 2023 could mostly be attributed to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, delaying many new scripted seasons on broadcast TV to a midseason start in January and February 2024. The potential for truncated ’23-’24 seasons doubling up with full ’24-’25 seasons starting in the fall may produce a temporary bounce in seasons released on broadcast in 2024, which was a phenomenon observed in 2021 following the peak of the COVID pandemic, according to Ampere."
