Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington team for Apple TV+'s Imperfect Women from Physical creator
Physical creator Annie Weisman will adapt Araminta Hall's 2020 novel Imperfect Women as an Apple series following a bidding war, with The Handmaid’s Tale’s Moss and Scandal’s Washington on board as stars and executive producers. Imperfect Women is described as an “unconventional, psychological thriller examining a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women.” The series is a “mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest relationships can change over time.” This will be Moss' second Apple series following 2022's Shining Girls. “From the moment I received Araminta’s novel, I couldn’t put it down. It was such an electrifying read; I fell in love with it immediately,” said Moss, who initially optioned the book for her production company and brought Washington on board as an executive producer. “I’ve admired Kerry and her work as an actor and producer for many years and have been looking for something to work with her on and was so thrilled that she responded to the material when we sent it to her and Pilar at Simpson Street. They were the first and only people we thought of. We are so happy that Apple and 20th Television agreed to partner with us on this, as well. It’s all an absolute match made in heaven.” Washington adds: “I could not have been more thrilled to get this call from Elisabeth. I have been an immense fan of hers — both as a brilliant actor and groundbreaking producer — for years.”

Noah Wyle reteams with ER producers for Max medical drama series The Pitt
Wyle will star in the drama series delving into the front line medical workers in Pittsburgh from ER executive producers John Wells and R. Scott Gemmill. Max describes The Pitt as a “a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the front line heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh.” Gemmill, who executive produced more than half of ER’s 330 episodes, will serve as showrunner. “We are grateful to Warner Bros. Television and Max for giving us this opportunity to return to the world of urban medicine,” Gemmill, Wyle and Wells said in a joint statement. “The myriad of challenges facing the doctors, nurses, technicians, patients and their families who work in the trenches of modern medicine have become only more pronounced in the decade and a half since we last visited their stories. We’re thrilled to be able to return to this world with the support of our partners and are looking forward to pushing the boundaries of dramatic realism and medical accuracy in following the lives of these heroic men and women.”
Stephen Colbert expresses remorse for his Kate Middleton jokes, but stops short of apologizing
The Late Show host received backlash last week for joking about Prince William affair rumors while mocking the princess of Wales' absence from public life. His jokes looked bad after Middleton's cancer announcement last Friday. On Monday, Colbert expressed remorse about the jokes and wished Middleton well, but he didn't outright apologize. “We do a lot of shows, and I tell a lot of jokes, and I tell jokes about a lot of different things — mostly what everybody’s talking about,” Colbert said. “And for the last six weeks to two months, everybody has been talking about the mystery of Kate Middleton’s disappearance from public life.”

NBC News bosses are meeting to discuss Ronna McDaniel's future
"Top executives from NBC News were expected to meet Tuesday to hash out the growing controversy around her recent hire," reports Variety's Brian Steinberg. The review comes after prominent MSNBC and NBC News personalities denounced the former Republican National Committee chair's hiring on air Sunday and Monday. "There are some people who think NBC News may have to renege on its contributor deal with McDaniel, because the growing internal outcry about her hire means many producers and anchors will be loath to book her on their programs," says Steinberg. "Others think NBC News could stand by its decision."

Euphoria actor on Season 3: "I just don’t think it will happen"
An anonymous Euphoria actor tells The Daily Beast that the long wait has been frustrating. “Since January of 2022, we have had a start date of March that turned into June, that turned into January,” they said. “And then they kept pushing every month from then on. It was two full years of HBO telling all the actors we were going back soon, so we couldn’t take some jobs.”
The Bachelor delivered on its promise of a shocking ending for Joey Graziadei's season
"Throughout this season, our host Jesse Palmer has given us the usual promises: This is an unprecedented ending, the most dramatic ending of any Bachelor season ever!!!" says Laura Bradley. "We heard plenty more such vows about the 'most heart-wrenching ending ever' on Monday night, when ABC finally aired “the most-anticipated live finale in Bachelor history.” Call me cynical, but after many, many years of fake-outs, I simply did not believe it. Then, Daisy went rogue and knocked on Kelsey’s door, setting off a chain of events that would leave me blubbering on my couch, screaming incomprehensible exclamations of excitement to my confused boyfriend and dogs and frantically texting my Bachelor buddy. Now more than ever, I just feel like, women!!!"

“I loved the first three episodes,” Kraft told reporters of the recently concluded 10-episode Apple TV+ docuseries. “I felt bad that there was so much emphasis on the more controversial and let’s say ‘challenging’ situations over the last 20 years. I wish they had focused more on our Super Bowl wins, our 21-game win streak. I felt bad there were players who gave hours and hours of interviews and they felt only the negativity." The Dynasty has been criticized by Patriots alums for focusing too much on the negative of the Patriots' two decades of dominance in the NFL.
