Halle Berry is set to star in Peacock menopause comedy Zero F***s, plus HBO horror series The Patient
The Oscar winner is poised to star in three shows at three different outlets. Berry is attached to star in Zero F***s, a menopause-themed comedy in development at Peacock from writers Liz Kruger and Carolyn Townsend, described as “a comedy about embracing your second act when you finally stop giving a f*ck.” Zero F***s “revolves around three menopausal best friends — one of them played by Berry — dealing with midlife BS who are forced to solve a murder of a friend they couldn’t stand,” per Deadline. “But how do you solve a murder when you can’t remember why you came into the room?” Berry is also set to star in The Patient, a psychological horror story based on the novella of the same name by Jasper DeWitt that originated as “The Patient That Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine” on Reddit’s r/nosleep, from writer Laeta Kalogridis. In it, an “ambitious young psychiatrist Parker attempts to make a name for himself by treating Josephine Todd (Berry), the famously incurable patient at his hospital. But as he unwinds the mystery of her history, and delves deeper into her troubled mind, terrible things start happening – is she a victim or a predator, cursed or the curse itself? As he gets closer to the truth, he realizes that treating her might cost him his own sanity, or much worse,” per Deadline. Berry also could star in FX’s Mother Doom, based on a short story by Sean Lewis, which “centers on Riley who has been retired from the Special Forces for twenty years, but when her son is killed in the line of duty, she goes back into her past to find his murderer and get revenge.”

Bari Weiss tells CBS News staffers: “I am here to make CBS News fit for purpose in the 21st century”
At an “all-hands” meeting this morning, CBS News’ editor in chief said while Walter Cronkite “had two competitors,” CBS has “two billion.” “I’m not going to stand up here today and ask you for your trust. I’m going to earn it, just like we have to do with our viewers,” Weiss told CBS News staffers. “What I can give you is what I’ve always tried to give my readers a journalist: transparency. Clarity. Straight talk. So here it is as plan as I can say it: I am here to make CBS News fit for purpose in the 21st century. Our industry has changed more in the last decade than in the last 150 years, and the transformation isn’t over yet. Far from it. It’s almost impossible to conceive of how fast things will move from here.” Weiss said she understood “why, in the face of all this tumult, you might feel uncertain or skeptical about me or what I’m aiming to do here. I’m not going to stand up here today and ask you for your trust. I’m going to earn it, just like we have to do with our viewers.” But she told her staff: “Our strategy until now has been to cling to the audience that remains on broadcast television. If we stick to that strategy, we’re toast.” Weiss also said that the network would invest in brands like 60 Minutes, 48 Hours and CBS Sunday Morning with podcasts, newsletters and live journalism.

Bari Weiss said she doesn’t plan to pull any future 60 Minutes segments after they’ve already been promoted after the “Inside CECOT” debacle: “It’s always going to be my prerogative as of editor of this newsroom to say that I want more information and to push to get new information,” she said. “Now am I ever going to hold something again after it has been put out there with promos? I don’t want to make that exact same decision again. No, I do not.”
Bari Weiss tells staffers: “Ratings are the past. It doesn’t mean they don’t matter”
Gayle King rallied the troops in a passionate speech that discouraged leaking: “I just want to say something about working at CBS,” the CBS Mornings co-host said. “I think we’ve all been walking around with gasoline on our pants. We’ve had a lot of incoming. People come and pet me like a puppy and say, ‘I’m so sorry that you’re leaving CBS. I won’t watch you guys again. And it’s not the same place.’ And when I come here, what I see everyday are people who really love what they do. We work really hard, we’re very proud of what we do here, and I don’t want anybody to lose sight of that.”
America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry slams Netflix ANTM docuseries as “woke”
Curry, who won ANTM’s debut season in 2003, said on social media that Netflix’s three-part Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model is “absurd” for judging the show by today’s lens. “I think people psychoanalyzing it over 20 years later with a woke lens is absurd,” she wrote. Curry also said she refused to participate in the documentary, though for different reasons. “I don’t trust people to not manipulate things I say for TV so I decline everything,” Curry wrote. “Also, the public is cult-like and cruel, so the last thing I want is a bunch of eyeballs on me … I have (zero) trust in any producers, no desire to be really public in this day and age … and am hard retired from Hollywood.”
