HGTV orders two more shows from Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, renews Celebrity IOU
In Backed by the Bros, the Scott brothers "will offer their invaluable insight and resources to help inexperienced entrepreneurs find success with their high-stakes investment properties,” per HGTV's logline. In Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers, they "will find a way to fix problematic homes for frustrated families who desperately want to love their house," per HGTV. Meanwhile, Celebrity IOU has been renewed for Season 7. Backed by the Bros and Don’t Hate Your House with the Property Brothers join a growing list of Scott brother shows on HGTV, including Property Brothers: Forever Home and Brother vs. Brother. “We can’t wait to share our two new shows with our fans and continue to create entertaining, educational and inspiring content," Jonathan Scott said in a statement. "As a trusted resource in real estate and home renovation, we are passionate about helping people find the right design solutions with their properties.”

2024 Oscars producing team is set
Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan will serve as executive producers, while Hamish Hamilton will serve as director, of the 96th Academy Awards, scheduled for March 10, 2024. Kapoor has worked on the past seven Oscar telecasts.
Prosecutors plan to recharge Alec Baldwin with involuntary manslaughter in Rust shooting
NBC News reports that New Mexico prosecutors that after dropping involuntary manslaughter charges earlier this year, a new case will be brought against Baldwin before a grand jury in November. NBC News also reports there's been talk of a plea deal. According to a source, NBC News reports "that after further investigation, prosecutors no longer believe the gun had been modified and have found new evidence that they believe connects Baldwin to recklessness around safety standards on the set."
NFL and college football boost broadcast TV viewing
Broadcast networks drew 23% of all TV use in the United States in September, up from 20.4% in August, according to Nielsen‘s monthly Gauge report. Meanwhile, thanks to the NFL, Prime Video hit its highest mark in the two years of the monthly platform rankings.

Study: Reality TV features more female representation than scripted TV
San Diego State’s Center for the Study of Women in Television and Film's latest "Boxed In" report found that during the 2022-23 season, women accounted for 50% of characters or participants in unscripted programs and 43% of characters in scripted shows across broadcast and streaming. “These findings suggest that the percentage of females onscreen will inch upward this year as television platforms rely more heavily on unscripted programs due to the interruption in production caused by the labor strikes,” the center’s executive director, Martha Lauzen, said in a statement.
Showtime Sports is shutting down by the end of the year
The 38-year-old Showtime brand known for its boxing slate will shut down by the end of the year, Paramount announced today. "As we evolve our strategy to more efficiently allocate resources and align our content offering across the business, we've made the difficult decision not to move forward with boxing and other content produced by the Showtime sports team," Paramount said in a statement. "Showtime will continue to air and support the remaining 2023 boxing slate and honor obligations through the end of the year."
