Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are coming to steaming
Starting in September, Peacock, Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ will stream the syndicated episodes of the two classic game shows the day after their regular TV airing as part of a deal with Sony TV. "It marks the first time that in-season syndicated episodes will be available on national streaming platforms and the deals also include access to library episodes of the shows," says Deadline's Peter White. "Unsurprisingly, (CBS sibling) Paramount+ is not one of those streamers that Sony struck a deal with. The move comes days after three Appeal Court judges from the Second Appellate District ruled that CBS will remain the sole distributor of the rights to these shows. However, it’s understood that streaming rights are separate to the linear rights to the shows, meaning that Sony has the right to sell these shows to Peacock and Hulu, despite the court ruling."
