Hartnett is producing the series with Black Mirror, The Affair and Station Eleven vet Jessica Rhoades, who will serve as showrunner. Hartnett and Rhoades previously worked together on the 2023 "Beyond the Sea" episode of Black Mirror Season 6. Author Dan Brown and Lost's Carlton Cuse team for Netflix's Robert Langdon TV series
Based on Brown's upcoming novel The Secrets of Secrets, which is being released on Sept. 9, the untitled drama is set in the world of Brown’s sixth book in his series about Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon. In The Secrets of Secrets, "symbologist Robert Langdon races against ancient forces and time to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript whose discoveries have the power to forever change humanity’s understanding of the mind," per Deadline. "The series adaptation will blend futuristic science with mystical lore, delivering on the heart-pounding suspense and international intrigue that has made the Langdon stories a global phenomenon." In announcing the publish date, Brown called The Secret of Secrets “by far the most intricately plotted and ambitious book that I have ever written, and I also happen to think that it’s the most fun.”
CBS News staffers see former president Wendy McMahon's ouster earlier this week as a sign of an imminent settlement with President Trump
“As soon as it was announced that Wendy was leaving, the general mood was, ‘Okay, this settlement is much closer than we thought,’” a network staffer told The Washington Post, requesting anonymity. “It really felt like she was another scalp following (the departure last month of former 60 Minutes executive producer) Bill Owens, and maybe that is something that would appease Trump and his negotiators.” Another staffer said: "It’s getting rid of the people … pushing against a settlement to ease the process." While many staffers at the network oppose a settlement with Trump, there’s a broad expectation that it will happen. “We understand that a settlement will be made,” the first CBS News staffer said. “We also understand that an apology (to Trump) is likely. We also understand that in doing so, CBS News will be very badly damaged.”

"It was a bit of a surprise," Grammer said Wednesday on Gayle King's SiriusXM show of learning of Wendt's death at age 76 on Tuesday, per EW. "George was a lovely guy. I mean, it's still odd to speak of him in a past tense right now, but it was just yesterday morning we found out. And I was just sitting writing something at the moment. I got a call. But I spoke to his family yesterday and just told them how much I liked him and, you know, choked up a little bit." Grammer added: "For 11 years, America waited for him to walk into a bar every Thursday night and say something funny. And they just knew he wouldn't disappoint. He was extraordinary. He'd sort of just lope across that floor and sit down at that stool and order that beer and say something that set the world on fire."

Survivor 48's finale was good for its winner, bad for its bored viewers
"For years now, Survivor fans have griped online about 'Big Move–itis' — a term referring to players of the strategy game who make ground-shaking moves without thinking about questions like 'Why would I do that?' or 'Does this benefit my game?' or 'Is this actually smart?'" says Jason P. Frank. "That haphazard way of playing is frustrating to watch, particularly when players who do nothing wrong get voted out. But it turns out the inverse style of play is just as frustrating, even if it’s better gameplay. Season 48’s winner, Kyle Fraser, was crowned on May 21 after playing a near-flawless game of Survivor — and wow was it boring to watch." ALSO: Survivor 48 had the perfect recipe for a dull season.
