Kit Harington to co-star with Shailene Woodley and Lindsay Lohan in Hulu’s Count My Lies
The Game of Thrones alum will star opposite previously announced stars Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley in the Hulu limited series from former This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, based on the book of the same name by Sophie Stava. “When compulsive liar Sloane Caraway (Woodley) fibs her way into a nanny position for the gorgeous and charismatic Violet (Lohan) and Jay Lockhart (Harington), it seems she’s finally landed her dream job,” reads the official logline. “But little does Sloane know, she’s just entered a household brimming with secrets that are about to explode — with potentially catastrophic consequences for all.” Harington’s most recent TV roles include Netflix’s Too Much and HBO’s Industry.
Kate Walsh returning to Grey’s Anatomy as a Season 22 guest-star
Dr. Addison Montgomery is scrubbing back into Grey’s for the Jan. 29 episode titled “Strip That Down.” Walsh last appeared on Grey’s in April 2023.
CBS Evening News co-anchor Maurice DuBois announces exit from CBS News amid overhaul
DuBois announced his exit after his fellow co-anchor, John Dickerson, announced on Oct. 27 he would be leaving at the end of the year. DuBois became co-anchor of CBS Evening News in January after working as an anchor on New York City’s WCBS. New CBS News editor in chief Bari Weiss plans an overhaul of CBS Evening News. “Moving On: December 18th is the day of my last broadcast at CBS News,” DuBois wrote on Instagram. “It has been the Honor of a Lifetime. 21 years altogether, including my time at WCBS-TV in New York City. What a privilege! To be welcomed into your homes night after night, delivering the news / meeting extraordinary people and telling their stories. I’ll leave filled with gratitude, cherished relationships and amazing memories. A couple weeks to go; until then, see you on The CBS Evening News every night at 6:30.”
MS NOW plans to launch a direct-to-consumer streaming service next summer
Versant, MS NOW’s parent company, says it plans to create “a home for progressives on digital,” one that can stitch together MS NOW content alongside podcasts, YouTube and short-form video, alongside interactive content and community features.
Roy Wood Jr. to host a CNN holiday special
Airing Sunday, Dec. 14, A CNN Special Event: Roy Wood Jr.’s Very Very Very Merry Holiday Special, will feature the Have I Got News For You host and surprise guests from across comedy and music, plus the U.S. Air Force Band. “I was hoping the White House ballroom would be done by then for us to shoot this special there but I’m understanding construction is a little behind,” Wood said in a statement. “Nonetheless, I’m excited to celebrate the holidays, while honoring our troops and our government workers and also having an opportunity to re-wear my nice green jacket from the Peabody Awards but this time with a little red in it.”
Clue TV series lands at Peacock
The scripted adaptation of the classic murder mystery board game has found a home at Peacock after interest from multiple outlets. “The deal makes sense for both sides,” says Deadline’s nellie Andreeva. “Clue is believed to be a murder mystery with comedic overtones in the vein of Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise and his Peacock series Poker Face. While Clue was in the marketplace, it was revealed that Poker Face would not be returning to Peacock for a third season, so the game board adaptation could presumably become its successor, serving that audience on the NBCUniversal streamer.”
Paramount Skydance accuses Warner Bros. Discovery of tipping its auction in Netflix’s favor
In a scorching letter sent to Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Executive David Zaslav late Wednesday, Paramount’s lawyers accused Zaslav’s company of not playing fair. “WBD appears to have abandoned the semblance and reality of a fair transaction process, thereby abdicating its duties to stockholders, and embarked on a myopic process with a predetermined outcome that favors a single bidder,” attorneys for Paramount wrote. Paramount is also alleges Warner Bros. Discovery that the sales process has been tainted by management conflicts. According to experts, Paramount’s letter may pave the way for a hostile takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.

Letterman, who will be promoting his Netflix talk show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction next Tuesday, will have a lot to catch up on after Jimmy Kimmel’s headline-making fall. Letterman last appeared on Kimmel’s show in March 2023.

Severance Season 3 may premiere in June 2027
According to Production Weekly, Severance is scheduled to film Season 3 from April through December 2026, with a premiere date expected in June 2027. “It’s also very possible the show will slip into September, when Apple tends to debut some of its biggest series,” adds 9to5Mac’s Ryan Christoffel.
