Mariska Hargitay directing an HBO documentary on her late mom Jayne Mansfield
The Law & Order: SVU star, the daughter of 1950s and 1960s sex symbol and movie star Jayne Mansfield and bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay, was 3 years old when her mom died in a 1967 car accident. Hargitay will explore her mom's life in the documentary My Mom Jayne, premiering in June. My Mom Jayne will follow Hargitay “as she seeks to know, understand, and embrace her mother for the first time,” according to the documentary’s logline. “Through intimate interviews and a collection of never-before-seen photos and home movies, she grapples with her mother’s public and private legacy and discovers the layers and depth of who Jayne was, not only to her audience but to those who were closest to her.” In a statement, Hargitay said: “This movie is a labor of love and longing. It’s a search for the mother I never knew, an integration of a part of myself I’d never owned, and a reclaiming of my mother’s story and my own truth. I’ve always believed there is strength in vulnerability, and the process of making this film has confirmed that belief like never before.”
Mike White slams The White Lotus composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer for "bitch move" of quitting: "He didn’t respect me"
In an interview with Howard Stern this morning, White discussed the Emmy-winning Tapia de Veer's high-profile exit last week. “I honestly don’t know what happened, except now I’m reading his interviews because he decides to do some PR campaign about him leaving the show,” White said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “I don’t think he respected me. He wants people to know that he’s edgy and dark and I’m, I don’t know, like I watch reality TV. We never really even fought. He says we feuded. I don’t think I ever had a fight with him — except for maybe some emails. It was basically me giving him notes. I don’t think he liked to go through the process of getting notes from me, or wanting revisions, because he didn’t respect me. I knew he wasn’t a team player and that he wanted to do it his way. I was thrown that he would go to The New York Times to sh*t on me and the show three days before the finale. It was kind of a bitch move.” White added that he struggled with de Veer during the first two seasons. “By the time the third season came around, he’d won Emmys and he had his song go viral, he didn’t want to go through the process with me, he didn’t want to go to sessions," said White. "He would always look at me with this contemptuous smirk on his face like he thought I was a chimp or something … he’s definitely making a big deal out of a creative difference.”
Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef renewed for Season 15 — Top Chef alum Tiffany Derry joins as a judge
Derry will join returning judge Joe Bastianich and host/judge Ramsay on Season 15 of the Fox reality show. “I’m beyond excited to join MasterChef as a judge for Season 15, which is unlike any other,” Derry said in a statement. “For me, cooking has always been about passion, precision and heart, and I can’t wait to bring my perspective to the table alongside Gordon and Joe. The season challenges home cook duos in a whole new way, and it was so fun to see them rise to the occasion. Get ready for some incredible food, tough love and maybe even a little spice!” ALSO: Contestants will compete in pairs — siblings, divorcees, best friends, etc. — for the first time in Dynamic Duos season.
