Peacock renews Twisted Metal for Season 3
The PlayStation video game adaptation starring Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz will undergo a showrunner change behind the scenes with its renewal for a third season. Co-creator Michael Jonathan Smith, who served as showrunner for the first two seasons, is exiting the show. The Boys and The Magicians vet David Reed will board the series and take over as showrunner. Twisted Metal, which returned for its second season in July, is Peacock’s second biggest returning original scripted series, with 993 million minutes viewed to date.

During an Oval Office press conference with Trump and Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, ABC News correspondent Mary Bruce asked about the Saudis’ 2018 murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and later asked the president about the Jeffrey Epstein files. After chiding Bruce for asking a “horrible,” insubordinate” and “just a terrible question,” Trump told Bruce: “You’re all psyched up. Somebody psyched you over at ABC and they’re going to psych it. You’re a terrible person and a terrible reporter,” according to Deadline. He later accused ABC of being “one of the perpetrators” of a Democratic hoax over Epstein. “I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and it’s so wrong, and we have a great commissioner, the chairman, who should look at that,” he said, referring to his FCC chair Brendan Carr.
AMC Networks launches All Reality, a streamer for unscripted programming
Launching today as an add-on to Amazon Prime Video at $4.99 per month, All Reality will feature 2,500 of reality TV programming from AMC Networks series. Shows include Love After Lockup, Bridezillas, The Braxtons, Marriage Boot Camp, Growing Up Hip Hop and The Graham Norton Show. Netflix greenlights Peter Morgan’s The Boys From Brazil reimagining, starring Jeremy Strong, Gillian Anderson, Lizzy Caplan, Shira Haas, August Diehl and Daniel Brühl
The Crown creator’s limited series, based on Ira Levin’s 1976 novel of the same name that was turned into a 1978 film starring Laurence Olivier and Gregory Peck, will be led by Strong, playing Nazi hunter Yakov Liebermann. “Set across three decades from the immediate aftermath of World War II through the political turbulence of the 1970s, the series follows Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter Yakov Liebermann in his lifelong crusade to bring Nazi fugitives to justice, a crusade that has cost him nearly everything,” per Deadline. “When one of his young protégées, undercover in Brazil, learns of a shocking Nazi plan, Liebermann is in a race against time to expose an unimaginable truth: Meinhardt, a sadistic Nazi scientist he believed long dead, is alive and orchestrating a diabolical project to spark the rise of a Fourth Reich.”
NBC sets Monday in mid-September air date for the 2026 Primetime Emmy Awards
The 78th Prime Emmy Awards will air on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 from the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. The awards will also live stream the theater’s namesake, NBC’s sibling streamer Peacock. NBC typically airs the Primetime Emmys on Mondays because of Sunday Night Football.

Schwartz is writing, directing and starring in the half-hour comedy series with Lapkus, who co-starred with him on the Funny or Die series that aired in 2016. “The Earliest Show is a comedic look behind the scenes at the U.S.’ earliest live morning show, which starts at 3 a.m. sharp, focusing on the on- and off-camera antics of hosts Josh (Schwartz) and Sam (Lapkus) in their tiny Upstate New York town,” per Deadline. Schwartz and Lapkus each earned Emmy nominations for their roles.

The comedian announced today that his company is partnering with Storyland Studios, a Southern California-based themed entertainment architecture and design firm, to explore the concept and feasibility of a Nateland theme park in Bargatze’s native Nashville, as he teased to The Hollywood Reporter in September. The amusement park would take up 100+ acres, with retail, dining and possibly a hotel. “Our goal is to create a truly premium themed entertainment experience right in Music City that reflects the unique humor and heart of Nateland, while also delivering a world-class destination for families,” said Storyland’s founder and chief creative officer Mel McGowan in a statement announcing the partnership.
