Resident Alien is staying at Syfy for Season 4, but will simulcast on USA
Last June, Deadline reported that the Alan Tudyk-led Resident Alien, facing cancelation at Syfy, was being renewed for Season 4 with a move to USA and a "significant budget reduction" in hopes of exposing the Syfy series to a broader audience. But today, Syfy unveiled Resident Alien‘s Season 4 trailer. "The new season of Resident Alien will debut June 6 as a simulcast on USA and Syfy," says Deadline's Nellie Andreeva. "The decision to keep the show on Syfy in addition to its USA run reportedly came in the months following the Season 4 renewal."

The CW's last legacy show, scheduled to air its Season 7 finale on Monday, has "a 50/50 chance" of renewal, according to Deadline's Katie Campione. Amid the uncertainty, showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll says she's "optimistic" for a Season 8 pickup. "I believe in unicorns and rainbows and gummy bears and all things happy," she tells Deadline. "So, I am optimistic for Season 8, and I’m moving forward and planning as though we have one, because if I don’t, we won’t be ready in time when we get it."

“They asked me to do Season 2, and they offered me half the money. I’m like, ‘Well, it’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money, and eight months of my time, essentially, to do it for half the amount,'” Renner said in an interview with High Performance, according to Variety. Renner suggested that his near-fatal snowmobile accident played a role in the lower salary offer. “I’m like, ‘I’m sorry? Why? Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over?" he said. "Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season.'”

They were made under the Peacock Emerging Artist Series banner. "All four creators participated in an NBCUniversal accelerator program, and subsequently secured development deals with the company," says The Hollywood Reporter's Rick Porter. "NBCUniversal is hoping that the program will help develop new talent that could go on to develop further programming for the company, but also introduce the audience that these creators have already built on platforms like Instagram and TikTok to the streaming platform, with a longer-form offering."

Doocy told viewers this morning he is moving to Florida where he will perform his co-host duties remotely while Ainsley Earhardt, Lawrence Jones and Brian Kilmeade continue to helm the program from the network’s studio in New York. Doocy, 69, has been co-hosting Fox & Friends since 1998. “It is a great job but the hours suck,” Doocy said. “After decades of getting up at 3:30 and driving into New York City in the dark, today is the last day I will host this show from the couch. I’m not retiring. I’m not leaving the show, I’m still a host but it’s time for a change.” Doocy also said he will also travel to outside of Florida to do remote segments for Fox & Friends.
