Roy Wood Jr. to host the American remake of Have I Got News for You for CNN
The comedian and former Daily Show correspondent will helm CNN's adaptation of the long-running British comedy panel show Have I Got News for You, a BBC staple since 1990. Have I Got News for You, featuring comic observations from the satirical to the surreal through the lens of a news quiz show, has received a 10-episode order. It will over 10 Saturdays at 9 p.m., starting Sept. 14. “For far too long immigrants have been coming to America and taking Black jobs, kudos to CNN and the immigrants at Hat Trick Productions for bringing a Black job to the States,” Wood joked in a statement. “It is an honor to be a part of such a hallowed British institution to help make sense of the American institutions of chaos, name calling, disinformation, reality television and the 8-hour news cycle.”
Michelle Pfeiffer confirmed to headline Paramount Networks’ Yellowstone sequel series spinoff, now titled Madison
Pfeiffer will lead the Paramount Network Yellowstone spinoff series previously titled 2024. Last week, Deadline reported that Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams and Kurt Russell were in talks to join the series. According to the official logline, Madison is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana. “Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity and grace,” said Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO and President/CEO, Showtime & MTV Entertainment Studios. “She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan.”

Henry Ashton will play Daeron Targaryen, who is a different from the Daeron Targaryen in House of the Dragon, in the next Game of Thrones prequel series. Daeron Targaryen is referred to as Daeron the Drunken. He is the eldest son of King Maekar I Targaryen and is known for having prophetic dreams. Also joining the cast are Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway, Youssef Kerkouras as Steely Pate, Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion, Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer and Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree.

Gary Olds, an actor on NCIS: Los Angeles and SEAL Team, arrested on seven felony sexual assault charges
The LAPD took the 52-year-old veteran character actor into custody on Wednesday. Olds has numerous one-off guest appearances on TV shows going back to the 1990s, including Law & Order, Party of Five, CSI, JAG, Charmed, Six Feet Under, Medium, Cold Case, NCIS, Boardwalk Empire and Criminal Minds.
Oliver Darcy, CNN's Reliable Sources media critic, exits
Darcy, who wrote the newsletter tied to the Brian Stelter's since-canceled CNN media show Reliable Sources, has left CNN to start his own media newsletter called Status. As CNN senior media reporter and author of Reliable Sources, Darcy was allowed to be critical of CNN’s coverage. “Oliver has established himself as a tough but scrupulously fair leading voice in media reporting and commentary – never afraid to call it as he sees it,” said CNN CEO Mark Thompson in a statement. “He has been a great shepherd of CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter, and we wish him every success in his new entrepreneurial adventure.”
John Tesh reveals a new version of "Roundball Rock" for the return of the NBA on NBC
The composer debuted what he called a "shredded version" of his iconic theme song on The Dan Le Batard Show this morning. “We went back into the studio and got me on Hammond organ and a guitar player named Andrew Synowiec, which was pretty incredible, and the rest of my band,” Tesh said. “I wrote an extra piece to put on the end of Roundball Rock, and then we did what’s known as the shredded version. So get ready, because here’s the first time anybody other than the people in the recording studio are hearing it.”

The NFL star makes his game show-hosting debut with Amazon's Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, premiering with three episodes on Oct. 16. Each episode will feature an "an adult contestant who will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from comedy, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects, pulled from elementary curriculum," according to the official description.
