Mike Myers' The Pentaverate fails to make Netflix's Top 10 shows
Source: Variety
Myers' limited series comedy The Pentaverate, which dropped early on May 5 and which has him playing his trademark multiple characters, didn't crack Netflix's Top 10 of hours viewed for English-language series for the week of May 2 through 8. It had fewer hours viewed than the docuseries Meltdown: Three Mile Island, which premiered one day earlier. "It’s a significant flop for Myers, who was a box office darling in the ‘90s and early 2000s for his starring in projects including the Shrek, Austin Powers and Wayne’s World films," says Variety's Selome Hailu. Variety TV critic Caroline Framke called The Pentaverate "the latest example of Netflix's blank-check bloat," adding: "It’s tempting to say that this series, with its lack of editorial eye and surprisingly expensive production value, is emblematic of what Netflix has become now. But the truth is that The Pentaverate is exactly in line with what the streaming giant has been doing for years, as it collects aging comedians like Pokémon, writes giant checks to anyone who might bring in more viewers, and lets them make shows and movies with bafflingly long runtimes. In other words: this show is a feature, not a bug."

Mario Batali found not guilty in alleged groping incident
Source: The Washington Post
A judge in Boston acquitted the celebrity chef after a two-day trial in which accuser Natali Tene testified he groped her at a restaurant in the city in 2017. While Tene testified, Batali, who gave up his right to a jury trial, opted not to take the stand. "The complaining witness has significant credibility issues.” said Judge James Stanton. “The issues were highlighted in her testimony.” Stanton also said that evidence showed the accuser was motivated by financial gain. As The Washington Post's Tim Carman notes: "The case against Batali, 61, was a #MeToo landmark: the first time a chef accused of sexual misconduct faced criminal charges in court."

Fred Savage reportedly has a history of being "quick to anger" on TV show sets
Source: People
"He works his crews pretty hard by always doing more takes than necessary," an insider tells People days after Savage was fired from The Wonder Years reboot for inappropriate conduct. "Some directors just overshoot. Sometimes they feel like they didn't get the performance or want to try another angle or things like that. He overshoots and the days are longer, therefore giving more opportunities to snap at people." A second source adds that Savage "can have a temper and occasional outbursts."
