Report: Amazon is "near" a deal to save The Expanse
Amazon, which already has streaming rights to the newly-canceled space drama's first three seasons, is near a deal to pick up The Expanse for a fourth season. That's according to The Hollywood Reporter's Lesley Goldberg, who emphasizes that a deal isn't yet done. She adds that, according to sources, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos "is a big fan of the book and was livid that the TV series went to NBCUniversal-owned Syfy. That loss move is said to have ignited Bezos' demand that Amazon Studios brass find TV's next Game of Thrones. Last Tuesday, heartbroken The Expanse fans flew a banner over Amazon Studios headquarters in Los Angeles with the hashtag "#SaveTheExpanse."
Jeffrey Tambor: I apologized to my Arrested Development co-stars over "distraction" of Transparent sexual harassment scandal
“I sent an email around and said an apology to these people I love so much for the distraction, and you’ll be asked questions, and things like that," Tambor said in an interview Monday with EW radio. "I gave a rather in-depth interview to The Hollywood Reporter. I’m no longer playing Maura, I’m going to miss her very much, I’m going to miss that cast that I love so much, and I wish them all the best. But I’m here now as a fan of this wonderful, wonderful group. I’m a little nervous, but I am so excited about this — and such a fan of these people — it is our best season, and these actors just knock it out of the park.”

Charlie Day says It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is aiming for a record-breaking 15 seasons -- Glenn Howerton might return
Day tells The Wrap that “fans should feel hopeful” of Howerton returning for Season 13. He says he and fellow Sunny stars are hoping to break the record for a live-action sitcom. “You definitely get Season 13, which we’re making right now, and Season 14, which we’re contracted to do, and then beyond that, it’ll be up to FX,” he says. “But I think 15 is the record for a comedy, so I imagine we’ll all want to hold the record for the longest-running comedy in America. Fifteen would be the record for the longest live-action comedy, so we’ll probably try and break that record if we can.”

The Times has yet another TV show in the works, partnering with Paramount Television on the 10-episode series Overlooked, which will use each episode to tell the story of a woman who left an indelible mark on history but didn't get a New York Times obituary. The Times' "Overlooked" series, launched earlier this year, aims to give those historical women proper obituaries. They include Charlotte Brontë and Ida B. Wells. Each episode will be written and directed by women. Earlier this month, The Times announced that it would partner with FX on the weekly series The Weekly.
