Ghosted ends with a waste of a great cast
Source: The A.V. Club
The Fox comedy starring Adam Scott and Craig Robinson ended its first and final season last night, wasting the potential it had on screen, as William Hughes explains: "I’m convinced that, one of these days, there’s going to be some sort of public post-mortem on Ghosted, and it’s going to be an absolutely fascinating document of all the things you can do to a TV show if you don’t particularly care what happens to it first. It seems to have been created, way back when, as a vehicle for Scott and Robinson to improv together, and in that respect, it could be considered a mixed success at best."

Fox cancels Ghosted, wiping clean last season's entire comedy slate
The Craig Robinson-Adam Scott supernatural sitcom was the last series Fox had yet to renew for next season. Its cancelation means no live-action comedies from last season will air next season -- all of which were single-camera comedies. Fox has three multi-camera comedies on the fall schedule, including Last Man Standing. Ghosted's cancelation was seen as a foregone conclusion after it was yanked in April to accommodate a creative and showrunner change. Ghosted returned earlier this month with The Office alum Paul Lieberstein at the helm. A Fox rep says it hasn't been determined whether Ghosted's final three episodes will air.

Dennis Franz pays tribute to Steven Bochco: He had to talk me into playing NYPD Blue's Sipowicz
Source: The Hollywood Reporter
"I consider Steven to be a leader and a visionary in television," Franz, who starred as Lt. Norman Buntz on Hill Street Blues and played the iconic Det. Sipowicz on NYPD Blue, said Tuesday in reaction to Bochco's death. "He left such a beautiful legacy of so much memorable work, which to me puts him in an icon status." Franz was nominated eight times for the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, winning four Emmys, for his role as Andy Sipowicz. But Franz recalled having to be talked into playing his most famous role over lunch with Bochco, six months before the initial NYPD Blue script was written. "I read about my guy, and I thought, 'Who is going to care about this guy?'" Franz recalled. "He gets shot at the end of the pilot, and I thought, 'Who is going to care if he lives or dies? He is a womanizer. He is a drunk. He is a racist. He is a loose cannon. He is a bad cop and bad man.' And I expressed those feelings to Steven, and he said, 'You know, you will find a way to make him sympathetic.' And I asked how I was going to go about that, and he said, 'It is inherent in your personality. You have this.' And never did he say, 'You're right, we'll change the character.'"
- Kim Delaney says "Steven changed my life," from her Emmy-winning NYPD Blue role to the Philly series he created for her
- Amy Brenneman, who met her husband on NYPD Blue, says of Bochco: "Steven, thank you for my marriage and my life in Los Angeles. Thank you for your artistic courage which taught me how to have artistic courage of my own."
- "Steven Bochco was not about bull or baloney. He knew that life was too short for that stuff," says TV critic Tom Shales
- Adam Scott: "Steven Bochco generously gave me my first real tv job in 1995 on Murder One"

Adam Scott discusses Ghosted's revamp, Big Little Lies and how Aziz Ansari is "doing great"
"I don’t know what to say on the record about Aziz. I don’t want to say anything that would be misconstrued," Scott says of his former Parks and Recreation co-star, in an interview with Vulture. "I’ll say this: Aziz is doing great. He’s a great, lovely guy. How’s that?" As for Fox's Ghosted tonal revamp: "I’ll say this: I think it’s possible for a bunch of well-meaning people to enjoy working with each other and realize at some point they were each working on different shows," he says. "That’s what happened with us. Part of it was me thinking we were making a mix of Midnight Run and The Twilight Zone, without considering that everybody might not like Midnight Run or even know what I meant when I said that."

Parks and Recreation creator and Amy Poehler tell the NRA to "f*ck off" for using a Leslie Knope GIF
Source: The A.V. Club
The National Rifle Association tweeted a Leslie Knope "thank you" GIF to its spokesperson, Dana Loesch, after she participated in CNN's town hall on the Florida school shooting Wednesday night. That prompted Parks and Rec creator Michael Schur, who's been very active in denouncing the gun-rights organization on Twitter, to tweet at the NRA: "Hi, please take this down. I would prefer you not use a GIF from a show I worked on to promote your pro-slaughter agenda. Also, Amy isn't on twitter, but she texted me a message: 'Can you tweet the NRA for me and tell them I said f*ck off?'" Fellow Parks and Rec alum Nick Offerman also responded to the NRA's tweet: "@NRA @DLoesch our good-hearted show and especially our Leslie Knope represent the opposite of your pro-slaughter agenda - take it down and also please eat sh*t," Offerman tweeted. Adam Scott also weighed in: "Hey
@nra please stay the f*ck away from Leslie Knope."
