Kathy Griffin: Leslie Jones was in talks to co-host CNN's New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper
SNL star Jones ended up serving as a contributor to NBC's New Year's Eve coverage, but Griffin claims in a New Year's Eve tweetstorm that there were serious talks to have Jones replace Andy Cohen on CNN, one year after he replaced Griffin. Griffin says she heard that NBC objected to Jones appearing on CNN, but said that that didn't make sense since Cohen works for NBC Universal, too. "As I started asking around to find out when CNN was going to announce Leslie as co-host, I heard that they had downgraded her to a couple of segments or some sort of a guest role," Griffin tweeted, adding: "Anything less than co-hosting screams to me very little or no pay, and a lack of respect for someone who is such a proven talent, has a big fan base, and knows what she’s doing. She has paid her dues and then some!" CNN has yet to respond to Griffin's allegations.

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen say they've worked out the kinks for their second year co-hosting New Year's Eve Live together on CNN
Last year, Cohen was deemed an unworthy -- and boring -- replacement for Kathy Griffin, Cooper's co-host of 10 years. The two best friends tell Variety they've honed their on-screen rapport -- and Cohen says he'll stop complaining about the weather. “I think we are going to have more fun this year,” says Cooper. “We’ll be more ourselves.” Cohen says that since they travel together, “we have a shorthand with each other,” and viewers will see that on screen this year.

Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis: My Instagram post about my contract expiring was a joke that Andy Cohen took seriously
Lewis read angry texts from Cohen, telling him he shouldn't have joked about his contract expiring when the fate of his show is up in the air. “Looks to me like you’re vilifying the network," Cohen supposedly wrote. "They usually pick up shows after they finish their season. But maybe you want to let competitors know you are open for business, which you are definitely doing.”

Stephen Colbert defends Sean Spicer Emmys bit, says CBS gave no pushback on his Les Moonves comments
Source: The Daily Beast
The Late Show host's visit to Watch What Happens Live went surreal last night when Andy Cohen had an animated talking "Shady Col-Bear!" ask him about the much-criticized Spicer bit. Asked if he regretted it, Colbert said: "Not at all. I had no fear that it would redeem him. I knew that there would be some people that wouldn’t like it, and the funny thing was is that right before I brought him out, I looked around the room and I thought to myself, ‘There’s not one joke that I’ve told tonight to this room full of liberals that was a risk other than the one I’m about to do,’ and it was the joke I most wanted to do.” As for Colbert's remarks on Moonves' sexual harassment scandal, The Late Show host said he spent days preparing his comments, and that his show notified CBS about what he was going to say 30 minutes before taping.

Lauren Cohan sheds light on her The Walking Dead contract negotiation

But it’s also sort of time for me to explore comedy and happier fare. So the good news, which is good for me and I hope good news for fans, is that my Walking Dead story is open. It’s not finished, and a very good mentor of mine said to me last year ‘Stop trying to decide, you’re just going to do all of it.’” ALSO: Cohan insists Maggie's story is "not finished."
