Bekah said she had to pack for "prepare for eight weeks and all kinds of weather," and she had to provide her own dresses. "When I got back to Los Angeles, I was so broke I returned everything that still had tags on," she says. ALSO: Why The Bachelor deserves an Emmy nomination.

The Bachelor's Bekah Martinez regrets her negative comments about Arie Lyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham
"I kind of thought about, like, reaching out to Lauren and apologizing because - I don’t know - I said some stuff on After the Final Rose, where I was like, ‘She should get out of that as soon as possible’ - which I still think she could do better than Arie – but, like, I mean I just want to make it clear that I don’t wish her anything but happiness," she said on Bachelorette alum Eric Bigger's podcast Bigger Talks. The Bachelor would be better off if it dumped Chris Harrison
Harrison was 30 when The Bachelor premiered in 2002. He was about the same age as The Bachelors. But at age 46, Harrison has been struggling to keep up with his "host-as-pal" persona. He seems more concerned with The Bachelor franchise, and not The Bachelor himself -- or as Willa Paskin put in her review of Monday's finale, Harrison is "an emotional succubus posing as an empath.” Indeed, as Kathryn VanArendonk notes, Harrison is "a man whose onscreen personality has long since been scooped out and replaced with corporate-speak and a burning desire for better ratings and social-media engagement. He is a human-shaped instantiation of network notes." She adds that Harrison's approach to The Bachelor is stuck in 2002, and needs a shakeup. "His tone, his demeanor, and his transparent pleasure at hyping a calamitous breakup have become the embodied tone of The Bachelor," she says. "Outside, it’s all solicitous worry for the people involved. Inside, it’s a complete contempt for the softies who think maybe you shouldn’t, say, cast racist suitors for the first black Bachelorette. If Harrison is a puppet, what I’m arguing is that the strings are now way too visible."

The Bachelor Winter Games proved to be irresistible TV
"What made The Bachelor Winter Games so utterly winning?" asks The Huffington Post. "We have some theories: The international Bachelor stars injected some new personalities and refreshing genuineness into the house dynamic. Moving away from the competitive structure of The Bachelor and the musical-chairs structure of Bachelor in Paradise allowed relationships to solidify and bloom. People look adorable in sweaters and parkas. By the time the finale rolled around, we found ourselves genuinely rooting for the couples that had emerged from the two-week series ― and one surprise couple who found true love after filming stopped." Until this week, The Bachelor’s Bekah Martinez was on a missing persons list
Martinez, considered Arie Luyendyk Jr.’s frontrunner, was one of 35 people listed as missing from Humboldt County on the California Department of Justice's website. As the North Coast Journal reports, it turns out Martinez’s mom reported her as missing on Nov. 18 when she hadn't heard from her daughter for six days after she said she was going to work at a marijuana farm in Humboldt County. Martinez was never actually missing, as she's been regularly posting to Instagram since the missing persons' report was filed.
