Real Housewives stars should stop making alcohol and drug abuse allegations
Source: E! Online
"You can tell you're watching a Real Housewives series by a few trademarks," says Chris Harnick. "The hair extensions and weaves flow freely, the make-up on the ladies is almost always perfect, even at a midday meal, there's a little petty drama in almost every scene, and lately, somebody is calling a costar an alcoholic or leveling substance abuse accusations. It's time to drop that last indicator, for the sake of the series. This recent and rampant allegation hurling is hurting the franchise, and it's spreading from city to city, from The Real Housewives of Orange County to The Real Housewives of New York City. It's everything from drinking too much to doing cocaine and popping pills."

Dirty John doesn't work as a TV show
Bravo's Dirty John, adapted from the Los Angeles Times podcast of the same name, can't be rescued by Connie Britton, whose presence is mystifying, says Judy Berman. "A better TV adaptation might have excavated the story’s ample subtext about romance, faith and the failure of law enforcement to protect women from dangerous partners," she says. "But Bravo’s Dirty John, premiering on Nov. 25, leans into the salaciousness, splitting the difference between soap opera and crime re-enactments in the hysterical style of America’s Most Wanted...It may be a conscious attempt at camp. But the show doesn’t even succeed at that; its incompetence isn’t entertaining."
- Connie Britton and her talented co-stars are wasted here on a warmed-over Lifetime movie masquerading as a prestige TV miniseries
- Doesn't Dirty John want to be more than just a tawdry Oxygen-style true-crime series with a script and an A-list cast?
- Britton and Eric Bana dazzle: Bana pivots from charming to chilling and back again with astonishing ease
- Dirty John might be middlebrow, but it's filling
- Dirty John proves to be just as engrossing if you've already listened to the podcast

Lisa Vanderpump: I haven't quit Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
"I am in the show. I have not quit, and if I did quit, it wouldn't just be a leaked story," she tells ET of reports that she is leaving the Bravo franchise after this season. "I would be upfront, and I have a lot of loyalty to the production company and the network. But it has been a difficult season... But it's been a difficult year for me personally, and the season was very challenging. So I'm in a lot of it, but there are some parts I skip, and I think people have seen that."

Producer behind Buying It Blind and Married at First Sight isn't trying to make "gotcha TV"
"The goal is to get people in a situation people are happy with,” says Chris Coelen, the executive producer of Lifetime's relationship reality show Married at First Sight and Bravo's real estate-themed Buying It Blind. “We don’t want to put anybody in a house that ultimately they’re really upset about...I don’t really believe in gotcha TV. Source: The Mary Sue
Philipps said last night on Watch What Happens Live she was surprised how many headlines were devoted to her allegation that Franco pushed her on the set of Freaks and Geeks, especially since she recounted the same story in 2016 on the very same Bravo late-night show. Philipps said she expected the Franco story to grab headlines, but she didn't expect it to overshadow her book tour. Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis: My Instagram post about my contract expiring was a joke that Andy Cohen took seriously
Lewis read angry texts from Cohen, telling him he shouldn't have joked about his contract expiring when the fate of his show is up in the air. “Looks to me like you’re vilifying the network," Cohen supposedly wrote. "They usually pick up shows after they finish their season. But maybe you want to let competitors know you are open for business, which you are definitely doing.”
