Source: Page Six
Seinfeld says of Christian Charles' lawsuit: "I don’t know if you remember my TV series; a friend of mine sued me for $100 million that I took the whole idea from him. It’s a guy who lives in Queens. … When we did Bee Movie, there was guy who said, 'I was going to do a movie about bees, so you owe us everything.' It’s unfortunate when it’s a … friend, and they decide to go for the money instead … That’s not the nicest moment, but I’m used to it."

Jerry Seinfeld has three reasons why the lawsuit accusing him of stealing Comedians in Cars is baseless
In court documents filed in response to Christian Charles' lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Seinfeld notes that Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee debuted in 2012, outside the three-year statute of limitations for copyright claims. He also points out that Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee has too generic a premise to claim ownership, pointing to similar shows like Carpool Karaoke and Jay Leno's Garage. Finally, Seinfeld notes that he filed the copyright for his pilot episode 10 days before Charles filed his own copyright for Comedians in Cars Going for Coffee.
