Washington State University lands ESPN's College Gameday after 15 years of in-person lobbying
Source: ESPN MediaZone
Since 2003, WSU flags have been shipped around the country for alums to display on College Gameday in hopes of the university one day landing college football's signature pregame show. That day will finally arrive on Saturday, when College Gameday originates from Pullman, Washington for the first time. The WSU flag has been on display for every College Gameday show for the past 15 years, something that the ESPN show has pointed out and even celebrated in a featurette airing last year when the WSU flag was flown for the 200th straight episode.

Burt Reynolds, Emmy-winning acting icon, dies at 82
The legendary movie star and sex symbol, who died this morning from cardiac arrest, was best known for his big-screen work, but also he won accolades for starring on the CBS sitcom Evening Shade for four seasons, from 1990 to 1994. Reynolds was nominated twice for the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series, winning once, and nominated three times for the Golden Globe for best performance by an actor in a TV series, comedy or musical, also winning once. He also lent his voice to the late 1980s fantasy sitcom Out of this World, playing the alien father of a half-human, half-alien girl. Reynolds death comes six months after he sat for an extended interview with Conan O'Brien, where they touched on everything on him being "in love" with Johnny Carson to his friendship with Marilyn Monroe.

Erin Andrews accused of going “Hollywood” while working on ESPN’s College Gameday
Source: New York Post
Andrews was an ESPN sideline reporter who had just come off of competing on Dancing With the Stars when she joined ESPN’s iconic college football pregame show in 2010. According to College Gameday’s Desmond Howard, Andrews seemed more interested in the goings-on in Hollywood than in college football. “She had the Dancing With the Stars and the whole Hollywood thing going on, whatever,” Howard said on ESPN historian James Andrew Miller’s Origins podcast. “We are talking football and she’s in there on that website,” PerezHilton.com. Andrews spent two seasons on Gameday before moving to Fox Sports to cover college football and the NFL in 2012. Fox Sports wouldn’t allow her to be interviewed for the podcast.
