Disney Channel fires actor who played Andi Mack's grandpa after his arrest for allegedly trying to have sex with a 13-year-old

Stoney Westmoreland, who plays Ham Mack on the Disney Channel tween series, was taken into custody in Utah on Friday for allegedly enticing a minor on the Internet that he believed to be 13. His alleged crimes are considered felonies. Westmoreland is also known for his recurring role as a Secret Service agent on Scandal. "Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series Andi Mack, was arrested in Salt Lake City today," Disney Channel said in a statement. "Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors, we have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week."

The 100 star Marie Avgeropoulos' domestic violence case dismissed
Avgeropoulos, who was arrested in August after her boyfriend called police and accused her of hitting him, saw her case dismissed this morning after prosecutors determined that "she had an adverse reaction to medication that triggered the outburst and there wasn't an intentional act of violence," TMZ reports.

Outlander author responds to outrage over the casting of an actor with a domestic violence history

Canadian actor Will Strongheart, who played a Native American character on Sunday's episode, was recently revealed to have been convicted of two counts of assault causing bodily harm in 2010, according to CBC News. Strongheart responded to CBC's report saying: "I would like to address the story and photos that have resurfaced, and most importantly, offer my sincere apologies to those affected by my actions." Following the revelation, Outlander fans took to author Diana Gabaldon's Facebook page to convey their outrage over the casting. “I have absolutely nothing to do with the casting,” wrote Gabaldon, a consultant on the series, in response. She added that “naturally I don’t think it’s good that this happened. On the other hand, I don’t think it’s reasonable to ask the production people to investigate the backgrounds of every actor they hire for a minor part.” A spokesperson for Starz declined comment on Strongheart's casting.

Michael Avenatti arrested for alleged domestic violence

The Stormy Daniels attorney, who became a cable news fixture earlier this year, was taken into custody after a woman with "visible injuries" filed a criminal complaint. TMZ inititially reported that his "estranged wife" filed the complaint, but she later released a statement denying he hit her. After his release, Avenatti said: "I have never been physically abusive in my life nor was I last night. Any accusations to the contrary are fabricated and meant to do harm to my reputation. I look forward to being fully exonerated.” ALSO: Alyssa Milano disavows Avenatti following his arrest.

Former Bachelor Chris Soules pleads guilty in fatal car crash case

Soules is facing up to two years in prison after striking a plea deal to reduce his crime from a felony to a misdemeanor for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident. He was arrested in April 2017 after he fled the scene after his pickup truck hit a tractor trailer, killing its driver.

Arkansas man arrested for allegedly making 40 harasssing and death threat calls to CNN

Benjamin Craig Matthews, 39, was booked Wednesday on multiple counts of felony terroristic threatening and multiple counts of misdemeanor harassing communications. Police say Matthews allegedly made dozens of calls between Oct. 31 and Nov. 2, threatening the life of one unidentified CNN journalist.

Big Brother alum Christmas Abbott arrested for felony criminal mischief
