Source: E! Online
"Everyone's Talking about it, and I'm excited to confirm it. We're welcoming Carrie Ann Inaba to The Talk table," CBS' head of daytime Angelica McDaniel said in a statement. "Carrie Ann connects with audiences by being genuine. We appreciate her warmth, heart and vulnerability, and love what she brings to the show." The Dancing with the Stars judge, who was Chen's choice to replace her, said in a statement: "Having the opportunity to sit at the table with Eve, Sara (Gilbert), Sharon (Osbourne) and Sheryl (Underwood) has been such an enriching experience and I'm honored and looking forward to joining them daily. It's the authentic conversations and connection with the audience and the ladies that really drew me to The Talk. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this show." Dancing with the Stars champ Sharna Burgess thinks the show having a long break is a good thing
Source: Just Jared Jr.
“I think it will be good for fans to miss us for a little second,” Burgess, who won the most recent Dancing season with Bobby Bones, tells E.T. “There was a lot of Dancing with the Stars in 2018, with the tour and Juniors, the athlete season, and then the full season." She also says it would be good for the dancers to have a long break, too.

Dancing with the Stars champ Bobby Bones: "I’m never dancing again. I have retired from dancing"
"The dancing thing was crazy because I went into it not knowing how hard it actually was," he tells People. "Being around the pros and actually seeing them do their thing, they’re professional athletes.”

Is the end near for Dancing with the Stars?
Source: Us Weekly
Us Weekly reports there have been talks of ending the ABC reality competition next fall with Season 28. "If that happens, the network is hoping to bring back multiple original pros, including Karina Smirnoff, Cheryl Burke, Derek Hough, Mark Ballas and many more," reports Us Weekly. Talk of Dancing ending comes after news that there won't be a spring edition for the first time. It also comes after two back-to-back subpar seasons, including the four-week all-athletes edition earlier this year. “They want to have a great last season if there is just one season left,” a source tells Us Weekly. ABC won't air a spring Dancing with the Stars following Season 27 controversy
Since its second season in 2006, Dancing with the Stars has aired two seasons every calendar year. But there won't be two in 2019. Following a 2018 that saw an abbreviated four-week spring all-athletes edition and the controversial fall Season 27 winner Bobby Bones, ABC has decided to skip a spring 2019 edition. "Though it’s not yet clear what prompted the competition series to sit out a midseason run, Dancing is coming off a controversial 27th season," reports TVLine's Rebecca Iannucci . "After multiple well-scored frontrunners were eliminated prematurely (including R&B singer Tinashe and Fuller House actor Juan Pablo Di Pace), the Mirrorball was ultimately awarded to country radio DJ — and very dark horse — Bobby Bones, who had scored much lower than his three fellow finalists." She adds there's no word on the future of Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, which aired simultaneously with Season 27.

Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten end their Dancing with the Stars romance
“Alexis has been in Japan working and Alan is in L.A. rehearsing for the DWTS tour, so it’s hard to date when you’re in separate countries,” a source tells People. “They care about each other a lot, though, and they continue to be close and talk regularly. No matter what, they plan to always remain in each other’s lives.”

Dancing with the Stars is increasingly rewarding popularity over dance skills
"More and more, mediocre contestants with large, passionate, eager-to-vote fanbases are making it to the finale over contestants who A) were excellent from Week One, or B) put in the work to become excellent over time," says Rebecca Iannucci in wake of Bobby Bones' surprise victory last week. She adds: "The show has revealed, with increasing frequency, that it doesn’t much matter if a contestant earns high marks or makes noticeable improvement each week. All these amateurs seem to need is a gaggle of fans who will vote tirelessly for their favorite — and that’s not a competition I’m interested in watching."

Bobby Bones responds to Neil Patrick Harris' dissing his Dancing with the Stars victory

Was Bobby Bones' victory the biggest upset in Dancing with the Stars history?
Source: The Washington Post
Dancing fans took to Twitter to express outrage over Bones' victory, especially since he came into the competition with no dancing experience. "While there have certainly been shocking results before (remember Donny Osmond over Mýa or Donald Driver over Katherine Jenkins?), the judges’ score discrepancy — and the skill level — between Bones and the other finalists loomed large. Bones’s victory caused a stir online, as ecstatic messages from country music stars and his fans rolled in . . . while others were less than pleased with the results," says Emily Yahr. Why has Dancing with the Stars only eliminated women this season?
Source: The Washington Post
The five contestants eliminated so far have been female. "So, what’s going on? And will the streak continue on Monday night’s episode?" asks Emily Yahr. "It’s the only time in the show’s history that five contestants of the same gender have gone home first. Usually, it’s much more evenly split in the beginning of the competition. The closest comparison was Season 23 in 2016, when the first four eliminated dancers were men: Jake T. Austin, Rick Perry, Babyface and Vanilla Ice." As she notes, viewers have begun noticing the gender imbalance.

Falling ratings, baffling ejections: What is wrong with Dancing with the Stars?
Source: Orlando Sentinel
Monday episode drew 7.1 million, down from 10.2 million at this point last year. The ratings fall comes amid the dilution of the Dancing brand with Dancing with the Stars: Juniors airing Sunday nights. Also of concern is Dancing ejecting standouts like Tinashe while terrible dancers like Grocer Store Joe from The Bachelorette are still on the show.
