Renée Zellwegger's What/If adds Westworld's Louis Herthum and Dave Annable
The Netflix social thriller from Revenge creator Mike Kelley has cast Herthum as Zellwegger's driver and right-hand man, while Annable will will play a doctor.

Blindspot alum Luke Mitchell to star on CBS' The Code, replacing Dave Annable
Mitchell will play the lead role, a Marine prosecutor, on the military legal drama. He takes over from Annable, who played the role of Capt. John “Abe” Abraham in the pilot but was cut as CBS announced it was picking up the series in May.

The couple, who first met on Brothers & Sisters, will be part of Freeform's "25 Days of Christmas" event.

Dave Annable writes of the agony of being dropped from CBS' The Code as it was picked up to series
“I’ve never been fired before and certainly not publicly,” the Brothers & Sisters alum wrote in an Instagram post shortly after he was dropped from the CBS series. “Right now I want to run. I want to hide. I want to quit. The TOUGHER thing to do is face it. To embrace it. Learning to deal with failure is one of the most important lessons you’ll deal with in your life. Guess what? Failure is mandatory. It’s growth. It’ll never stop.”

CBS picks up four dramas, including Magnum P.I. reboot and God Friended Me
Jay Hernandez will officially succeed Tom Selleck in the role of private investigator Thomas Magnum, in a reboot from Hawaii Five-O and MacGyver "rebirther" Peter Lenkov. CBS has also picked up Ava DuVernay's The Red Line, starring Noah Wyle, about the aftermath of a white Chicago cop accidentally shooting to death a black doctor. Greg Berlanti's God Friended Me stars The Mayor alum Brandon Michael Hall and Joe Morton in a drama about a young man who is "friended" by God on Facebook. CBS has also ordered The Code, a legal drama revolving around the military's brightest minds, starring Hamilton's Phillipa Soo. ALSO: Mira Sorvino and Dave Annable have left The Code and their roles will be recast.

Sarah Drew goes from Grey's Anatomy to Cagney & Lacey, joining Blindspot alum Michelle Hurd
Drew has quickly landed a pilot a week after being dropped from Grey's Anatomy, joining the CBS reboot of the classic police procedural. According to Deadline, "Drew will play LAPD Detective Cagney, Lacey’s nimble and easygoing partner and protégée. Hurd’s Lacey is athletic, polished, a former high school track and field champion. Empathetic and straightforward, she’s the more experienced partner." Tyne Daly and Sharon Gless won six acting Emmys between them starring on the original Cagney & Lacey, which won two best drama series Emmys during its seven-season run. Hurd is no stranger to reboots of popular franchises. In fact, she's had recent guest appearances on both Lethal Weapon and Hawaii Five-0.
