The Chew hosts say goodbye over a meal of Chinese food, pizza and ice cream
Clinton Kelly, Michael Symon and Carla Hall bid an emotional goodbye on today's final taping. The ABC daytime show will continue airing through next week, but those episodes are pre-taped. "This is the most fun any of us have ever had doing television," said Symon. "It’s because of the crew that makes the show possible. And obviously, the reason we were able to be on for seven years and 1,500 shows is because all you fans watched every day… (It was) an unbelievably special seven-year run that was just really fantastic.” The Chew will be replaced by a third hour of Good Morning America.

Smithsonian's "Watching Oprah" exhibit looks like a (deserving) reward for her $21 million donation
The exhibit honoring Oprah Winfrey at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture opens on Friday. And according to Sebastian Smee, the exhibit is "a testament — to Oprah, obviously, and her extraordinary story. But also to the rest of us, black and white, American and otherwise. It’s a testament to our culture’s transformation, to who we have become. Is it strange, perhaps even a little concerning, that a woman who is the biggest single donor to this museum should be treated to an exhibition exclusively about her, and so soon after its opening? You bet it is. It’s not a good look. Yet in the end, it’s hard to argue that Winfrey is undeserving of such an exhibition. She had the highest-rated talk show of all time. It aired all over the world for 25 years. No African American woman — you could persuasively argue no man or woman of any race — has had a bigger effect on the culture at large over the past 30 years."

Sara Gilbert addresses Roseanne's cancelation on The Talk, says she stands by ABC's decision
Gilbert made a tearful return to The Talk today, six days after ABC abruptly canceled the Roseanne revival she spearheaded. “I would like to say this has been a very difficult week," she said. "A lot of people have been hurt by this. I will say I’m proud of the show we made. The show has always been about diversity, love and inclusion, and it’s sad to see it end in this way. I’m sad for the people who lost their jobs in the process. However, I do stand behind the decision that ABC made.” Gilbert didn't address rumors of a possible Darlene-centered spinoff. According to Deadline, Roseanne producers are scheduled to meet today with Disney-ABC executives to pitch a revamped Roseanne without its star. I don't know where I’m going to working, where I’m going to be.” He said The Sopranos series finale ending "could be" foreshadowing, “but who knows what’s going to happen, if I do it again or don’t do it again.” But then he added in a telling statement: “They should get somebody who can do it all the time.”
