Ashlee+Evan can't match the entertainment value of other reality TV couples
Source: The Muse
Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross' new E! reality show is moderately entertaining, says Allie Volpe, "but fail to capture the charm of other reality couples like Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler in Very Cavallari or even that of Ashlee’s older sister Jessica Simpson on Newlyweds. Ashlee and Evan’s banter is almost too PG. For a couple with already successful careers and famous families, the stakes on Ashlee+Evan are relatively low. So what if Evan turns down another acting job? He’s got a few already in the queue. Even if Ashlee can’t top 'Pieces of Me'-level fame, she’s still got love and Momma D on her side."

Can Ashlee Simpson succeed in her reality TV comeback?
Source: The New York Times
When a then-teenage Simpson starred on MTV's The Ashlee Simpson Show in 2004 and 2005, only a few celebrities had embraced reality television. Now Simpson, along with husband and Fox Star star Evan Ross, is returning to reality with E!'s Ashlee+Evan, premiering on Sept. 9. “I feel like people see pictures of us, but they don’t know us,” says Simpson. She hopes a new reality show will fix that perception.
