George Stephanopoulos snagged the first sit-down non-Fox News TV interview with President Trump in 13 months
The president's interview with the Good Morning America anchor in Singapore about his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un marked the first time Trump has given an interview with a TV news outlet other than Fox News since he sat down with Lester Holt of NBC News in May of last year.

A doctor watching HGTV may have saved a woman's life by notcing a lump on her throat
Surgeon Erich Voigt was watching HGTV's Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation when he noticed a lump on the throat of on Nicole McGuinness, who was on screen. "I'm trained to examine patients, and I teach medical students, and it just caught my eye, and I knew it wasn't right," he said on Good Morning America. Voigt tracked McGuinness down and she was later diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Miss America drops swimsuit competition: "We are no longer a pageant"
“We are a competition," explained Gretchen Carlson in announcing that Miss America will no longer judge based on physical appearances. Carlson, the former Miss America who was named chair of the Miss America Organization board of trustees after the pageant's CEO resigned in scandal last December, revealed the news on Good Morning America this morning. She had promised a "tsunami" of changes at the Miss America Organization. Carlson says the swimsuit competition will be replaced by a live interactive session with the judges. “We’ve heard from a lot of young women who say, ‘We’d love to be a part of your program but we don’t want to be out there in high heels and a swimsuit,’ so guess what, you don’t have to do that anymore,” said Carlson.

ABC cancels The Chew, replacing it with an afternoon edition of Good Morning America
ABC has opted to axe the daytime talk show after seven seasons and expand GMA to three hours every weekday. The show made headlines earlier this season when it fired co-host Mario Batali after he was accused of sexual misconduct by several women.

James Corden was battling allergies and nearly interrupted the royal wedding
Corden explained his "resting royal wedding face" on The Late Late Show. "The worst part of the ceremony for me was there was flowers everywhere, the most beautiful flowers you’ve ever seen," says Corden, who is a friend of Prince Harry's. "And I get quite bad allergies if I’m in such close proximity to flowers, so for a lot of the ceremony, I just needed to sneeze. Right at the point when the archbishop was saying, ‘If anyone knows of any reason…’ and I was like, ‘Please don’t sneeze. ABC News is said to be focusing on its Good Morning America core anchors by cutting back on Lara Spencer
Spencer said to People magazine earlier this week that it was her decision to reduce her schedule from five to three days a week on the ABC News morning show. But Page Six reports that she is being sidelined so that GMA could focus on core anchors: George Stephanopoulos, Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts.
