Miss America Cara Mund: It's "possible" Gretchen Carlson will fire me

During an appearance on Good Morning America, Mund took issue with Carlson's statement that she should've reached out to the Miss America pageant CEO. Mund says she began raising concerns in January and reached out directly to the board in May and June. With less than three weeks left in her reign, Mund said it was "possible" that she could lose her crown.

Sara Haines is leaving The View to co-host Good Morning America's third hour with Michael Strahan
Haines and Strahan, who already works on the first two hours of GMA, are expected to helm a new early afternoon edition of the show, reports Variety. ABC News has yet to confirm the news.

Paula Faris is leaving The View and Good Morning America Weekend
Faris, who joined The View in 2014 and GMA's weekend edition as co-anchor a year later, is exiting both jobs next month for a new ABC News role focused on reporting and breaking news. Faris said her decision to leave was due to personal and professional reasons. “I’m excited to get my life back,” she says, noting that she has three young kids. "Working at GMA Weekend and The View has been awesome, but I’m so excited to not go to bed at 8:30 or 9 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday night because my alarm would go off for work at 3:30 a.m. every Saturday and Sunday morning.”

Gretchen Carlson defends Miss America changes amid backlash

The changes ushered in by Carlson has resulted in behind-the-scenes drama. Additionally, reps from 22 stage pageants want Carlson and her board to resign, while the former Fox News host has received the support of 30 former Miss America winners. "This board unanimously decided we needed to move this program forward," Carlson, the new Miss America Organization chair, said on Good Morning America, addressing criticism that she forced the changes herself. "We’re working through this in the best way we can," Carlson said of dealing with the backlash. "We believe that physical appearance and beauty and being fit — that is empowering. We’re just not going to judge women on that."

A doctor watching HGTV may have saved a woman's life by notcing a lump on her throat
Surgeon Erich Voigt was watching HGTV's Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation when he noticed a lump on the throat of on Nicole McGuinness, who was on screen. "I'm trained to examine patients, and I teach medical students, and it just caught my eye, and I knew it wasn't right," he said on Good Morning America. Voigt tracked McGuinness down and she was later diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Miss America drops swimsuit competition: "We are no longer a pageant"
“We are a competition," explained Gretchen Carlson in announcing that Miss America will no longer judge based on physical appearances. Carlson, the former Miss America who was named chair of the Miss America Organization board of trustees after the pageant's CEO resigned in scandal last December, revealed the news on Good Morning America this morning. She had promised a "tsunami" of changes at the Miss America Organization. Carlson says the swimsuit competition will be replaced by a live interactive session with the judges. “We’ve heard from a lot of young women who say, ‘We’d love to be a part of your program but we don’t want to be out there in high heels and a swimsuit,’ so guess what, you don’t have to do that anymore,” said Carlson.
