Former FBI director James Comey's bestselling memoir is set to become a TV miniseries
Comey, who was appointed by former President Obama in 2013 and who was fired last year by President Trump, is nearing a deal with CBS Television Studios to turn his memoir A Higher Loyalty into a miniseries from producer Alex Kurtzman. Captain Phillips Oscar-nominated writer Billy Ray is expected to write the adaptation.

"All of a sudden I remember he’s in the book and it’s unflattering." Behar's book, The Great Gasbag: An A-to-Z Study Guide To Surviving Trump World, contains a section titled: "C is for Comey.” ALSO: Comey's book sells 600,000 in its first week thanks to his TV blitz.

Why did Stephen Colbert conduct a better James Comey interview than George Stephanopoulos?
That Comey's ABC News interview was a one-hour exclusive primetime special might have played a role in it being lackluster, says James Poniewozik. "The Colbert interview with Comey was so much better than ABC's," he tweeted. "Maybe that's partly the benefit of going after all the initial headlines have come out. Stephen Colbert gave former FBI director James Comey to a 32-minute grilling
Colbert, who greeted the former FBI director with pinot noir, pointed out to him that ABC News on Sunday only aired about 22 minutes of his interview with George Stephanopoulos, which spanned more than five hours. So Colbert was determined to show a longer interview. The 32-minute interview was so long that it was put up on YouTube unedited. "There was too much Comey to fit in the show!" tweeted Colbert in linking to the uncut version. "Hard choices where to cut. So here’s the whole damn thing."

The Late Show has booked the former FBI director's first late-night appearance, to promote his new book, on April 17. “We’re going to have to get a bigger chair and I’m going to need to get a stepladder to interview the guy,” Colbert joked of the 6-foot-8 Comey.
