CBS sets summer premiere dates for Big Brother and Kevin Hart's TKO: Total Knock Out
Season 20 of Big Brother will kick off on Wednesday, June 27, with the traditional three episodes airing every week. The Mark Burnett-produced, Kevin Hart-hosted TKO: Total Knockout premieres on Wednesday, July 11. CBS has also scheduled the premiere of sci-fi thriller Salvation for June 25.

The hour-long obstacle-course reality show premieres this summer. “This show is perfectly aligned with my global brand,” Hart said. “The minute Mark Burnett pitched me, I got it and we decided to work together. This show has the potential to make me look tall.”

Fergie apologizes for her much-derided National Anthem performance at the NBA All-Star Game
“I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA,” she said after nearly a day of being mocked on Twitter for Sunday's unusual anthem performance. “I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone. I love this country and honestly tried my best.”

Kevin Hart's new YouTube series sends celebrities like Conan O'Brien and Chance the Rapper outside their comfort zones
The comedian's Laugh Out Loud Network has announced What the Fit, which will have celebrities try out unusual fitness routines. Conan will try sumo wrestling, while Leslie Jones will take a spin at the rodeo. Other celebrity participants include DJ Khaled, Joel McHale, Tiffany Haddish, Khloé Kardashian and Niecy Nash. What the Fit premieres March 8.

Wanda Sykes and Deon Cole will also lend their voices to the potential series that aims to bolster Fox’s animated brand. “It’s about Kevin Hart’s experiences growing up and how his relationship with his mother and his community led to his optimistic, positive outlook despite some of the challenges and circumstances that he grew up with,” says Michael Thorn, Fox’s new entertainment president.

NBC blames "equipment failure" for blackout during Super Bowl
“We had a brief equipment failure that we quickly resolved. No game action or commercial time were missed," an NBC spookesperson said of the black screen that led to some people joking that NBC was paying tribute to The Sopranos finale in the middle of the game. Brands like Tide quickly capitalized on the blackout. “Clean clothes are still clean in the dark. If it's clean, it's a #TideAd,” the laundry detergent brand tweeted.

Kevin Hart is the latest comedian to host SNL with a “tone deaf” monologue
Hart’s monologue was slammed as sexist for reinforcing dated gender roles, which some found odd days after he admitted cheating on his pregnant wife. “The routine adds one more problematic routine to SNL's ever-growing pile of tone-deaf performances,” says Malcolm Venable, pointing to Louis CK joking about child molestation in April and Larry David’s monologue about picking up women in a concentration camp from November.

James Franco and Kevin Hart will host the final SNL episodes of 2017
Franco will host Saturday Night Live for the fourth time on Dec. 9, after having hosted in 2008, 2009 and 2014. He’ll be joined by R&B singer SZA as musical guest. Hart will host for the third time on Dec. 16 after previously hosting in 2013 and 2015, joined by the Foo Fighters.

The This Is Us star is getting recognized more now that he’s the star of hit network show. "I catch myself every once in a while doing that weird thing that I see famous people do, where they have sunglasses and hats on and grow out beards thinking that they're fooling people. Dude, you're not fooling anyone, you look just like you,” he says. As for TV’s diversity problem, he recalls that it was just a few years ago that a Kevin Hart sitcom was vying with Black-ish for a spot on the ABC schedule. “Why can't we have both?” he says. “So that sort of thing is still happening right now, and hopefully over time there will be room to say: Well maybe we don't have to choose. Maybe we can put them both on the air and see how the public responds.” PLUS: This Is Us releases the first glimpse of Season 2.
