The TV remake for Walmart's Vudu streaming service of the 1983 Michael Keaton comedy "is a nostalgia play, which is incredible, as I cannot imagine many working moms are nostalgic for the idea that it’s a wacky switcheroo when dad has to take the kids," says Kelly Faircloth. She adds: "Yes, I know Michael Keaton’s character eventually gets the hang of it and they ultimately negotiate an equitable arrangement together; that doesn’t change the fact that the basic joke of the film is 'What if dad... was MOM?'"

Walmart teams with MGM to start creating original TV shows
The world's biggest retailer is teaming with MGM to create shows for its Vudu video-streaming service, based on franchises from MGM's extensive film and TV catalog. The shows will be free to watch with advertising, but Walmart is also planning an ad-free version. The first show should arrive early next year.
