Freeform teams with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on a Hamptons drama series
The couple is producing a series based on Jasmin Rosemberg’s 2008 book How the Other Half Hamptons, about a group of female friends who share a house in the Hamptons with 40 strangers over the summer.

Robert Aguirre-Sacasa says going from 13 episodes in Season 1 to 22 episodes in Season 2 required shifting genres. "Without question, it's harder to fill 22 hours of television versus 13 hours of television," he says. "That's just harder to do, but we almost change genre week to week. 'This week, it's a musical. This week, it's a horror movie. This week, it's The Godfather. This week, it's a kidnapping thriller. This week, it's the Blossom gothicness.'" The idea is keeping it fresh and telling a story for a big cast of characters."

Kelly Ripa says her daughter, Lola, “cannot believe dad is on a show that I actually watch." Ripa tells Jimmy Fallon, “You know, so Veronica — she’s 16 also — and she drinks mimosas at breakfast. Kelly Ripa is adapting the book Geek Girl Rising as a potential ABC comedy
Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos are producing Valley Girls, a half-hour comedy about four women fighting to make it in male-dominated Silicon Valley. It’s based on Geek Girl Rising: Inside The Sisterhood Shaking Up Tech by authors Heather Cabot and Samantha Walravens.
