Alan Yang talks Master of None's future, Parks and Rec's "Treat Yo Self" and his "weird, supernatural" show Forever
"Yeah. We’re open to it," says Yang says of Master of None, which he co-created with Aziz Ansari. "Netflix has talked to us and I’ve talked with (Netflix content chief) Ted Sarandos and he’s open to the idea. It just has to be something that’s really exciting for us. Once we get to a benchmark of about six to seven ideas, then we feel like we’re ready to do a season." Yang, who also co-created Forever, says he urged his writers to pen fewer jokes for the Amazon series starring Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph. "I wanted it to feel like people were actually talking to each other," he says. Yang also discussed how the Parks and Recreation writing staff's Secret Santa bled into the show, and how he's had to apologize to Retta and Ansari for coining "Treat Yo Self" -- "because the amount of times they get yelled at on the street I’m sure is annoying."

How Aziz Ansari could rebuild his image using Master of None
Source: The Washington Post
Season 3 of the comedian's Netflix series should focus on self-reflection and listening, says Lisa Bonos. “Now that Aziz Ansari is caught in a real-life situation that is quite unclear — a first date of his says their night together wasn’t consensual, while he says it was — Master of None’s star and co-creator (with Alan Yang) has an opening to explore the difference between romantic pursuit and coercion As far as we know, this was an isolated incident that probably won’t end Ansari’s career or kill his popular series; the allegations against Ansari are not in Harvey Weinstein or Matt Lauer territory. But his reputation will need some rebuilding. And since Master of None already deals with dating dilemmas, Ansari could use his popular series to explore how courtship could be more consensual.”

“People like me had to wade through a sea of prehensile d*cks to build the world we know and enjoy,” Bee said in response to the women denigrating the comedian’s accuser. “And part of enjoying that world is setting a higher standard for sex than just not rape. And women get to talk about if men don’t live up to those standards. Especially if that man wrote a book about how to sex good.” Bee also had a message for men like Ansari who wear “Time’s Up” pins and claim to be a feminist: “Men: if you say you’re a feminist, then f*ck like a feminist. And if you don’t want to do that, take off your f–kin’ pin, because we are not your accessories.”
