Joy Behar and Meghan McCain appeared to be on edge Tuesday after their View argument on Monday

One tabloid report claimed Behar threatened to quit after arguing with McCain on Monday's show after Behar brought up President Trump during the show's George H.W. Bush tribute. "The shouting match between co-hosts Joy Behar and Meghan McCain that capped off Monday’s tribute to former President George H.W. Bush went unmentioned on Tuesday’s episode of The View," says Matt Wilstein. "But the lingering tension between the two women was unmistakable."

Back in July, McCain said "I call her 'Crooked Hillary'" because "I hate Hillary Clinton." This morning on The View, after bombs were sent to Clinton and several prominent Democrats, McCain expressed regret for her words. “I said I hate Hillary Clinton and I called her Crooked Hillary and it’s one of the things I regret doing because I contributed on television," she said. "Now this is not saying that I agree with her. I have many vast differences of opinion on philosophy and ideology and I didn’t think she was a great candidate, but hate is not a word that should be coming out of my mouth on television about someone of a different political persuasion.”

Will Meghan McCain appear on The View's season premiere following John McCain's death?
Next Monday's season premiere is two days after her father John McCain's funeral. An ABC spokesperson said: “We are taking our cues from Meghan, and her View family is ready to welcome her home as soon as she is ready."

The View co-host tweeted "I love you forever - my beloved father" shortly after her dad died of brain cancer, four days shy of his 82nd birthday. In an emotional statement, she wrote that the former prisoner of war, presidential candidate, and U.S. senator "was a great fire who burned bright, and we lived in his light and warmth for so very long. We k now that his flame lives on, in each of u s. The days and years to come will not be the same without my dad -- but they will be good days, filled with life and love, because of the example he lived for us."

Fox News' Abby Huntsman to become The View's second conservative voice
The Fox & Friends Weekend co-host was recently in talks to join the ABC daytime show, where she would join Meghan McCain in providing a second conservative perspective. Huntsman is the daughter of Jon Huntsman, who is the former governor of Utah, a former presidential candidate, Obama's ambassador to China and Trump's current ambassador to Russia. ALSO: The View alum Candace Cameron Bure recently called on the show to add another conservative.

Fox & Friends Weekend's Abby Huntsman is reportedly in talks to join The View
Huntsman, the daughter of former Utah governor and current ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman, would become the second conservative voice on the ABC daytime show, joining fellow conservative Meghan McCain. Sources tell The Huffington Post "ABC has sought a second conservative host on The View and has been eager to sign Huntsman for some time." Huntsman would replace Sara Haines, who is leaving to co-host the third hour of Good Morning America.

MSNBC's Joy Reid apologizes to John McCain and responds to controversy over her old 9/11 conspiracy blog post
In old blog posts uncovered this week, the MSNBC host photoshopped McCain's head on the Virginia Tech shooter and promoted a video of a 9/11 conspiracy documentary that blamed the attacks on the U.S. government. Reid said in a statement today she believes Al Qaeda was responsible for 9/11. She also apologized to McCain. "Today I’m sincerely apologizing again," she said, noting "my evolution on many issues." She added: "I’m sorry for the collateral damage and pain this is causing individuals and communities caught in the crossfire. To be clear, I have the highest respect for Sen. McCain as a public servant and patriot and wish him and his family the best. I have reached out to Meghan McCain and will continue to do so. She is a former on-air colleague and I feel deeply for her and her family." ALSO: MSNBC says it is standing by Reid.

McCain questioned the ESPN personality on whether she thinks Trump supporters are white supremacists. “I still stand by what I said,” Hill responded. “I don’t think that his supporters are white supremacists. What I would say, though, is that they have the privilege, the benefit of privilege, to be able to distance and disassociate themselves from certain issues.”
