Nickelodeon wants to revive Clarissa Explains It All with Melissa Joan Hart
Nickelodeon is eyeing another revival of a past hit series, a week after announcing that Blue's Clues is returning. The cable network is in early talks to bring back the teen series that ran for five seasons and 65 episodes from 1991 to 1994 with Hart reprising her role as Clarissa Darling, a teenager who spoke directly to the audience, according to The Hollywood Reporter. But Hart, who turns 42, next month, would play Clarissa as the mother of a family. Clarissa Explains It All creator Mitchell Kriegman is in talks to return, as is Hart, who recently been working at directing TV shows. Kriegman revisited the series in the 2015 novel Things I Can't Explain, which served as a sequel that caught up with Clarissa in her late 20s. Asked last month which of her former series she'd like to see rebooted, Hart told The Hollywood Reporter: "I like the way we left Sabrina. I think Sabrina ended on a really great note, and I don't think you want to go back and explore that. At the same time, I think Clarissa ended on a note that could be explored again, because it didn't really have an ending — it sort of ended."

Melissa Joan Hart is “indifferent” to Netflix’s Sabrina remake, but she thinks “they’re doing it in a smart way”
“People kept asking for it, and they were already doing Riverdale, so I guess it made sense,” says the former Sabrina the Teenage Witch star. “I think they’re doing it in a smart way — change it up, don’t make it the same. If you’re going to do the same show, it probably would fall on its face, but I think what they’re doing is probably the smartest way to reboot something.”

Sabrina the Teenage Witch cast reunites, discuss CW’s plans for a “darker” Sabrina spinoff
Melissa Joan Hart, Nick Bakay and Caroline Rhea were among the former cast members who reunited at L.A. Comic Con over the weekend. And one of the hot topics was The CW's planned revival of the Sabrina character. “I think our show was about magic and family,” Hart said of the potential spinoff, “and I think the new one — it sounds like, I have no idea — but the new one is going to be more about witchcraft, dark stuff. I think it sounds more Buffy the Vampire Slayer than it does Sabrina, so I think it will appeal to a different kind of audience and be a totally different show.”

Melissa Joan Hart reacts to CW rebooting Sabrina as a Riverdale spinoff
“They’re doing Sabrina without us,” says the former Sabrina, the Teenage Witch star, who says the new version will have more witchcraft and be more like Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer than her lighthearted ABC "TGIF" comedy.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch is making a comeback as a potential companion to Riverdale
The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina would offer "a dark coming-of-age tale that traffics in horror, the occult and witchcraft” — in contrast to Melissa Joan Hart’s Sabrina. The CW has enlisted Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, along with executive producer Greg Berlanti, to expand the Archie universe.
