Hilarie Burton blasts One Tree Hill convention, prompting Sophia Bush to defend her
Burton received some backlash after she wrote of the annual One Tree Hill Eyecon convention: "I personally feel exploited by their ‘girl power' angle, which exists at the expense of some of us who went through a difficult time on that show. They're using our sisterhood as a sales gimmick. No thanks." That prompted Bush to defend her, writing: "Let's get real clear, real quick. Hilarie Burton is my sister. She is a big-hearted, brilliant, thoughtful, incredible human. She has had laser sharp, clearly defined integrity running up her spine as long as I have known her. She is a human being. She has feelings. She is entitled to her OWN OPINIONS. She does not make statements hastily."

Danneel Ackles was told her Supernatural character is “basically you, so have fun with it”
Ackles talks about joining her husband Jensen Ackles’ CW series with this week’s episode. “I didn’t want to go on Supernatural and be a love interest of the week or have the guys kill me in some horrific way. But this character (Sister Jo), she’s just a badass. And where else can you go and bring your kids to work and hand them off to A camera while you’re shooting? So it was a no-brainer for me.” ALSO: Ackles looks back at her One Tree Hill ending.

Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton respond to One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn’s firing from The Royals
“43 women came forward. To the ones who did and to the ones who didn’t or couldn’t, I hope this news is a salve to your souls,” Bush tweeted. “To the other predators out there? I hope this is a lesson that sometimes, even if it takes time, justice is served. You’re next.” Burton added: “The reason we cannot condone ‘degrees of harassment’ is because one day you get your butt or boob grabbed at work. And you laugh it off. You become conditioned. "She's such a good sport" they say. And then? You meet a Schwahn.”

The Royals creator Mark Schwahn fired following sexual harassment allegations
“We have concluded our investigation and Mark will not be returning to The Royals,” a spokesperson for Lionsgate TV said of Schwahn, who created and served as showrunner on E!’s The Royals after previously creating One Tree Hill. “The fourth season of the show has already completed production and will air as scheduled on E! in the spring.” The investigation was started after former One Tree Hill writer Audrey Wauchope accused Schwahn of sexual harassment, prompting 18 women who worked on the series to share their own stories of Schwahn's alleged inappropriate behavior on the set of the former CW series. Shortly after, 25 cast and crew members of The Royals also accused Schwahn of sexual harassment.

Hilarie Burton wonders why Matt Lauer was swiftly fired, but not The Royals creator Mark Schwahn
Burton, who’s one of many females who’ve accused the One Tree Hill creator of sexual harassment, tweeted: “It’s amazing to me that @nbc can fire Lauer, but Mark Schwahn — after over 40 women have come forward — is still on ‘suspension’ over at @e_entertainment. We just waiting for the whole thing to blow over? New day, new headline? Fire the predator. #BurnItDownSis.”

Ex-One Tree Hill writer details the misogyny she experienced when she was the only female on staff
At one point, Stacy Rukeyser -- a daughter of Wall Street Week's Louis Rukeyser -- was the only female writer on a staff with 11 male writers on the WB series, something she found odd for a show focused on teen girls. “Despite my ability to ‘hang with the guys’ and make it through two years on One Tree Hill,” says Rukeyser, who is currently UnReal's showrunner. “I was still perceived as somewhat of a buzzkill. I fought for truth in the female characters' storylines, and for a less oppressive level of discourse in the writers room. When the other writers decided on Hooters for lunch, I was faced with a daunting decision — do I ‘suck it up’ and go along, so as not to miss out on any ‘work bonding,’ or simply laugh it off and let them go without me? I went with option C, and told them it made me uncomfortable (they went anyway, of course — "they have the best wings in town!"). I was ridiculed, harangued and called names.”

Hilarie Burton and other cast and crew members detail One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn’s alleged sexual harassment
Burton says she earned a reputation for being “difficult” after she struggled against Schwahn's attempts to sexualize her during the first two seasons of The WB teen drama. “Things took a turn in season three,” Burton says. “That’s when Mark decided that I was his muse.” According to Variety, “Burton claimed that Schwahn twice forced himself on her, kissing her on the mouth without warning and against her will. She said Schwahn touched her inappropriately while in the presence of his wife. All in all, she described a culture on One Tree Hill in which Schwahn pitted women against each other, was verbally abusive, and spread false rumors about physical relationships he claimed to have had with female cast members.” Variety also spoke to a former writer on the show, Michelle Furtney-Goodman, who alleges that Schwahn “forced her head down between her knees, balanced a soda can on her, and joked about her performing oral sex.” Another actress, speaking anonymously, alleges that Schwahn grabbed and pulled her between his thighs. A rep for Schwahn declined to comment on the new allegations.

The Royals creator Mark Schwahn accused of sexual harassment by 25 female cast and crew members
Days after being accused of sexual harassment by female One Tree Hill cast and crew members, female cast and crew members of E!’s The Royals have released their own statement accusing Schwahn of “repeated unwanted sexual harassment of multiple female members of cast and crew.” Their statement begins, “upon reading a statement from the ladies of One Tree Hill, a statement from their Royal sisters could not possibly go unwritten. Despite hearing rumours about his behaviour on One Tree Hill, those of us involved from the early stages went into the filming of the pilot hoping they were just that – rumours. By the time we wrapped this had irrevocably proven not to be the case. It became all too apparent reading their statement earlier this week that the betrayal and anger so many of us had experienced during our time on The Royals is not exclusively ours. And we were angry then, and we are angry now.” ALSO: Royals star Elizabeth Hurley issues statement saying she “had absolutely no idea” and “never witnessed” harassment.

E!’s The Royals creator Mark Schwahn suspended after One Tree Hill cast and crew's sexual harassment allegations
Season 4 of The Royals won’t be affected by Schwahn's suspension, as production has already wrapped. “E!, Universal Cable Productions and Lionsgate Television take sexual harassment allegations very seriously, investigate them thoroughly and independently, and take appropriate action. Lionsgate has suspended Mark Schwahn from The Royals as we continue our investigation,” the three companies said in a statement.
