How Robin Williams changed the way sitcoms are shot
Marina Zenovich’s HBO documentary Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind reveals how influential Williams was with his work on Mork & Mindy. He was so unpredictable in shooting scenes that a fourth camera was needed to capture all of his zany antics. And now many multicamera sitcoms use four cameras, instead of three. HBO's Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind is a straightforward documentary, despite its title

Marina Zenovich's two-hour film, premiering Monday, is a "straightforward, conventionally assembled documentary biography of an eccentric, decidedly idiosyncratic comedian and actor," says Mike Hale. "At times that’s a limitation, but overall it’s a good thing. Simply watching Williams in action is probably more interesting than any concerted effort to get inside his head or dissect or approximate his method." Most importantly, Come Inside My Mind delivers the "archival goods," he says, adding: "There are ups and downs, particularly among the feature films, but we get to see the irrepressible, unpredictable, inventive Williams on top of his game often enough that the documentary flies by." ALSO: Come Inside My Mind doesn't quite dig deep enough.

Pam Dawber took no offense to Robin Williams repeatedly groping her on the Mork & Mindy set, new book reveals
Source: The Daily Mail
Dawber said Williams would grab her breasts and her buttocks, expose himself, wrestle her to the ground and break wind on her on the set of their hit sitcom. She made her comments in the new book Robin, the Robin William biography from New York Times writer Dave Itzkoff. "I had the grossest things done to me - by him," she says, according to The Daily Mail. "And I never took offense. I mean I was flashed, humped, bumped, grabbed. I think he probably did it to a lot of people...but it was so much fun." The book also reveals that Williams once "goosed" an elderly actress playing his mother by putting a cane between her buttocks.
