Mr. Robot creator: The plan is somehwere “between” four and five seasons
Sam Esmail talked about the future of his USA series in discussing the Season 3 finale. Honestly, I've always said it's four or five seasons, and I've said that because I think it's somewhere in between,” he says. “Whether that means the next two seasons are two short seasons, or it could technically still be two full ten-episode seasons, we're still kind of figuring that out. It's something the writers' room and I take very seriously. We never want to feel like we're treading water. Hopefully it fits into two more seasons, but we're trying to figure out that number.” ALSO: Esmail on Season 3: “What’s interesting about the third season is that it comes pretty close to being the end of act two."

Mr. Robot renewed for Season 4
Following Mr. Robot's Season 3 finale, USA has announced that the hacker drama will be back for a fourth season. "Calm down everyone. #MrRobot season_4.0 writers' room is officially open for business," creator Sam Esmail wrote on Instagram this morning.

Emmy Rossum is teaming with her Mr. Robot creator husband on a limited series based on L.A. icon Angelyne
Rossum will play the blonde bombshell who is famous for driving her pink Cadillac around Hollywood and appearing on billboards, while also making movie cameos. The series, from Sam Esmail, will be based on The Hollywood Reporter’s investigative story on Angelyne.

"We realized, 'Wait a minute ... what if we just keep the whole episode in real time, and not only do we go through the realizations of Elliot, but we also go through what Angela has to do to counter all of Elliot's actions?'" says creator Sam Esmail. "That's the genesis of the whole episode, and why we felt it was an instance of the form matching what we wanted to say about the character and their journey — in this case not just Elliot, but also Angela."

Mr. Robot Season 3 attempts to recapture the magic of Season 1
The acclaimed first season had a streamlined story, which was ditched for more labyrinthine plot in Season 2. “Season three finds both Elliot and Mr. Robot more focused in their efforts to get back to the way things used to be,” says Alan Sepinwall.
