Did Sophie Turner wrap up filming Game of Thrones?
Turner raised eyebrows Tuesday when she tweeted: "Wow. My heart is broken and full all at once ... A beautiful, sad, bittersweet day." It's unknown when Game of Thrones wraps filming on its final season. Last fall, Liam Cunningham said "we're filming right up until the summer."

Peter Dinklage is glad that Game of Thrones isn’t doing “the jumping-the-shark thing,” says they’re halfway done with the final season
“It’s time,” Dinklage tells Variety of ending the HBO drama. “Storywise, not just for all our lives. It’s the perfect time to end it. Sometimes shows stay on a little too long, the jumping-the-shark thing.” ALSO: Maisie Williams will be Sophie Turner’s bridesmaid.

Game of Thrones won’t be back until 2019, says Sophie Turner
“Game of Thrones comes out in 2019,” the actress said in an interview with Variety. Although it’s not confirmed that the final season will air in 2019, Turner’s comment is the latest hint that Game of Thrones fans are in for a long wait for the final season. HBO programming president Casey Bloys has hinted at a 2019 start for Season 8 and actor Liam Cunningham said that the final season would be shooting through summer 2018, which would make a 2019 premiere more likely because of the lengthy post-production process.

Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner tweets in defense of the Stranger Things kids
Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has been getting grief for not stopping to interact with fans outside his hotel over the weekend. But the 21-year-old Turner, using her experience as a former child star, says it’s outrageous that “fully grown adults” would wait outside a hotel and then “abuse them when they don’t stop for them.” She adds: “It doesn’t matter if they are an actor... they are kids first. Give them the space they need in order to grow without feeling like they owe… anyone anything for living their childhood dreams.”

Game of Thrones deserves a better villain than the Night King
“What helps elevate Game of Thrones from the other legions of fantasy-trash,” says Tom Philip, “is its acting, its generous character development (even when it goes nowhere), and its nuanced approach to the morality of ruling and war. The Night King offers none of that. He stomps around in his monochrome wasteland, sics what can only be described as "the zombie cast of The Walking Dead, only cold" on Jon Snow intermittently, all the while looking like a C-grade CGI Marvel villain (and with about the same depth as one, too).”

With this week’s episode, Game of Thrones turned into “straight-up fantasy”
The HBO series used to be an exceptional fantasy show, but Sunday’s episode showed how it’s become just a conventional fantasy, as Alison Herman points out. “While watching the episode, it was hard to avoid the conclusion that the show has reached a fundamental turning point,” she says. “Game of Thrones is no longer a uniquely subversive commentary on fantasy as a genre. It’s just straight-up fantasy, and not only because this week’s big battle pits dragons against ice zombies.”
