President Trump still plans to deliver his State of the Union address one week from today

The Washington Post reports Trump is preparing "two versions of his annual speech — one that could be delivered in Washington and another that would be held somewhere else in the country, according to a senior White House official. The administration is trying to do advance work to prepare for an address at the Capitol, but as top House official, (Speaker Nancy) Pelosi has the power to determine whether Trump can give the speech in the House chamber."

Chris Christie to visit Stephen Colbert's live post-State of the Union Late Show
The former New Jersey governor is scheduled to visit Colbert after President Trump's speech -- assuming there is a speech on Jan. 29.

Nancy Pelosi calls on President Trump to reschedule his State of the Union speech over security concerns
House Speaker Pelosi said in a letter to Trump that the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security isn't equipped to handle the State of the Union speech that will bring together all levels of government, due to the federal shutdown. She suggested that he deliver the Jan. 29 speech after the shutdown is over, or deliver it in writing. Later, Pelosi told reporters: "He can make it from the Oval Office if he wants."

President Trump falsely claims he had the most-watched State of the Union in history
“Thank you for all of the nice compliments and reviews on the State of the Union speech. 45.6 million people watched, the highest number in history,” the president tweeted this morning. Even Fox News rebutted Trump’s claim, pointing out in a tweet that Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton all had a larger viewership. Stephen Colbert’s Late Show will air live after President Trump’s State of the Union Address
