CW president explains why he rejected Supernatural spinoff Wayward Sisters
“We are big fans of the characters and the women who played those characters," said CW president Mark Pedowitz. "We hope they continue on as guest stars on Supernatural… But we did not feel creatively that the show was where we wanted it to be. And we felt we had a better shot with (Originals spinoff) Legacies.”

The CW passes on Supernatural spinoff Wayward Sisters
"It breaks my heart to say this, but CW has chosen to pass on Wayward Sisters," tweeted Supernatural executive producer Andrew Dabb of the spinoff that would've starred Kim Rhodes and Briana Buckmaster. "We love these characters, and have spent almost two years trying to make this show a reality on the network... but there are some fights, sometimes, you can't win." Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki recall meeting for the first time in the Supernatural audition waiting room
While waiting to audition 13 years ago, Ackles and Padalecki bonded as they realized they had a lot in common. “They brought us in," Ackles said on The Talk, "they had us read together in front of the executives, and then they asked us to step outside — and then they said, ‘We’re just gonna switch some things up, we want you to do something different… just kidding, you guys have the parts.”

CW renews 10 shows, including Riverdale, Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Dynasty
Black Lightning, Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supernatural and Supergirl will also be back next season. CW shows yet to be renewed include The 100, iZombie, Life Sentence and Valor. The most baffling renewal is Dynasty.
