Susan Kelechi Watson on This Is Us' Beth/Randall rift: "We can expect to see more rocky times ahead"
"Well, it’s a rocky road ahead," she tells TVLine. "It’s going to be a bit more of a turbulent time in their marriage, but all of that is part of the reality of it. We all felt pretty strongly, if you’re going to show a marriage even when it’s going really well, you really have to show the cracks, and the hills and the valleys. You have to be transparent about those things, and I’m willing to go there. There’s a lot that has been building up, I feel, over the past few seasons in their marriage. And this season, especially, things come to a head. So we can expect to see more rocky times ahead for them, yeah." ALSO: Are Randall and Beth getting divorced?

Sterling K. Brown expects This Is Us to end after Season 7, citing on-set chats about Lost
Brown makes his prediction based on his conversations with creator Dan Fogelman. “We would talk about Lost, and he talks about Lost being one of the chief influences on our show with regards to the flashbacks and flash-forwards," says Brown. "I said, ‘Lost is my joint.’ But even I’ll admit, like at a point in time, I was like, ‘Are we going somewhere? What’s the culmination?’ And so, we have an endpoint. We know how our show is going to end. Not exactly sure when it will be, but I don’t think it’ll be beyond seven years.” ALSO: Susan Kelechi Watson says her This Is Us character evolved as the writers learned more about her.

This Is Us stars made 3D-printed copies of their SAG Award trophies to distribute to the child cast
Source: The Hollywood Reporter
Milo Ventimiglia joined his cast at SXSW in reflecting on the massive success of This Is Us. So far, he said, his one concern is that is that the show "gets kicked in the teeth at every awards show we've been to." So when the cast did win a SAG Award for outstanding performance at an ensemble, Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore took their trophies to a 3D printing store to make six replicas for the show's child stars. "It wasn't the real statue but also, from mom and dad, wanted them to know hey, we love you guys and you should have a representation siting on your mantel," said Ventimiglia, with Moore adding, "You're just as much a part of this as everybody else."
- Mandy Moore: "I’m really proud to be part of a show that is so inclusive, during such a divisive time in this country"
- Susan Kelechi Watson: "It’s nice to have these episodes where it’s, not necessarily lighter, but it’s happier. It’s joyful"
- Ventimiglia hopes fans seeing Old Man Jack in his 70s will "maybe soften the blow a little bit"

Jack from This Is Us is a nod to the dream dads of yesteryear
Source: Laughing Squid
"Jack the superhero dad reminds us of the power of earnest stories about good parents," according to a ScreenPrism YouTube video essay. "He’s selfless humble and totally devoted to his wife Rebecca and their three kids…Jack may be too good for this world, but his character touches us because he’s not effortlessly perfect, we see that he works really really hard to be this person for his kids. Jack shows us what it is to be a dream dad and why this is an achievement with far-reaching significance even after we’re gone." ALSO: This Is Us fans fear Beth could be the next to die.

How Martin inspired This Is Us
Martin Lawrence’s 1990s sitcom influenced the way Randall and Beth interact. Susan Kelechi Watson binged on Martin in preparation for her role, as she tells TV Guide: “I showed up on set and I said to Sterling (K. Brown), 'Man, I think I'm watching (Martin) because I feel like if we can do this and come across as close to (how) they feel as a couple, close to the vibe that they gave us when we grow up, that connectivity, that ride-or-die type of love.”
