Source: Entertainment Weekly
Baldwin's talk show will move to a new Saturday timeslot on Dec. 8. While not an official cancelation, EW reports that ABC will be burning off already-taped episodes in its new graveyard slot. The news comes four days after Baldwin's NYC arrest for allegedly punching a man over a parking space. The Alec Baldwin Show premiered to a disappointing 2.1 million viewers on Oct. 14. EW notes that "ABC put out the news on Election Night when most news media and readers are paying attention elsewhere." Shark Tank reruns will replace Baldwin's Sunday timeslot.

Alec Baldwin criticized for saying "ever since I played Trump, black people love me"
"I don’t know how to say this and I don’t want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off, but...ever since I played Trump, black people love me," Baldwin says of his Saturday Night Live role in a The Hollywood Reporter cover story profile. "They love me. Everywhere I go, black people go crazy. I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump. I’m not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, ‘This is going to be bad for black folks.''" His comments were met with skepticism on Twitter, with one person saying: "the only black person Alec Baldwin has in his contacts is Tracy Morgan and even they haven’t spoken since 30 Rock ended." Alec Baldwin on his SNL Trump impression: "Every time I do it now, it's like agony"

Baldwin spoke about Saturday Night Live and his new ABC weekly talk show Sundays with Alec Baldwin in wide-ranging Hollywood Reporter interview. Baldwin also spoke about why his MSNBC chat show failed after a few episodes. "The show died an ugly death," he says, blaming that experience on being paired with a news producer. MSNBC was a horrible marriage and just a really bad experience." So why do another TV interview show? "It's longer, and it’s not a pre-produced segment on the couch of a talk show — which is nearly always promotional," he says. "The watchword for me is origins. I like to talk to people about their origins. How did they grow up and how were they primed for this kind of work? How did Jerry Seinfeld become Jerry Seinfeld? I think that's inspiring for artists and performers."

Should Alec Baldwin be getting a weekly ABC talk show after his #MeToo controversies?
Source: The Daily Beast
"One has to wonder," says Ira Madison III of ABC's debut of Sundays with Alec Baldwin after the Oscars this weekend, "exactly what kind of voice and perspective Baldwin has to offer in a late-night landscape that’s already overwhelmingly full of wealthy white men, but furthermore, are audiences ready for the perspective of a brash actor who’s spent the past year defending Hollywood’s alleged abusers in the wake of #MeToo and Time’s Up? As audiences begin to crave stories that peel back the curtain on Hollywood and expose many of the abuses that have been allowed to exist in the industry for far too long, Baldwin has loudly made himself the voice of accused predators like Dustin Hoffman and Woody Allen."

ABC will air the pilot episode on Sunday, featuring in-depth interviews with Jerry Seinfeld and SNL co-star Kate McKinnon. ABC is billing Sunday's episode as a sneak preview, and the plan is to have two guests per show. “I'm excited about this show and grateful to ABC for taking a chance on me in what is, admittedly, a crowded field,” says Baldwin. “I've enjoyed doing my podcast for WNYC and look forward to the challenge of doing a show on camera.” ABC won't say when Sundays with Alec Baldwin will officially premiere.
