Fox News has become the home to "white anxiety" with its 94% white viewership
Laura Ingraham was accused of being racist with her Wednesday night commentary that "massive demographic changes have been foisted upon the American people" -- comments so controversial that Ingraham walked back her remarks on Thursday night after she said they were embraced by "white nationalists and especially one racist freak." But as CNN points out, Ingraham's comments "served as another raw example of a Fox News host echoing white nationalist language." So far this year, Fox News has a viewership that's 94% white, 3% Latino, 2% Asian and 1% black. With a nearly all-white audience, says CNN, "on the channel's highest-rated shows, the politics of white anxiety play out practically every day, as hosts and guests warn about the impacts of immigration and minimize or mock the perspectives of people of color. The talk show segments are clearly intended to appeal to people who perceive they are losing their grip on power."

Fox News defends Laura Ingraham in response to Parkland activist David Hogg's proposed advertiser boycott
Ingraham came under scrutiny again for her comments comparing immigrant detention facilities for children to "summer camps." In response to the backlash, Fox News said in a statement: “Laura Ingraham’s very personal, on-the-ground commitment to the plight of impoverished and abandoned children—specifically in Guatemala— speaks for itself. So too does her strong belief in a commonsense, legal immigration system, which will continue to be a focus of her show. Fox News will never tolerate or give in to attempts to silence diverse viewpoints by agenda-driven intimidation efforts.”

This bullsh*t is the opposite of what #ModernFamily stands for." ALSO: Ahead of tonight's visit with Jimmy Fallon, Parkland activist David Hogg calls for an Ingraham advertiser boycott.
