The Neighborhood cast and crew explain all the title and casting changes
The CBS sitcom previously known as Here Comes the Neighborhood and Welcome to the Neighborhood kept changing its title so that it could be "short and sort of punchy as possible, and as easy for recognition," said creator Jim Reynolds. As for the casting shakeup that saw Max Greenfield and Beth Behrs join the cast, he says: “As far as the recasting, we shot the initial pilot, which we were very proud of, but the network had been wanting to be in business with Max for a while, because of his obvious talents."
