The reality show following rapper T.I. and singer/entrepreneur Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris is reportedly back in production for a seventh season -- even though its series finale aired in May 2017.

PETA blasts RuPaul's Drag Race for its butterfly season finale stunt
“When performers use live animals as props, nobody wins,” the animal rights group said after contestant Asia O’Hara appeared to have released a plume of butterflies in the air that appeared to be dead on last night's finale.

“We came up with the pre-nomination Emmy window,” said MTV general manager Amy Doyle, executive producer of tonight's Tiffany Haddish-hosted awards show, which was pre-taped on Saturday. “We’re sort of assuming that celebrities will want to be seen during that time. They’ll want to be high-profile and top of mind as well as the TV production companies and movie studios.”

VH1 renews RuPaul's Drag Race and its Untucked aftershow

The Season 11 renewal isn't surprising since the current 10th season is the most-watched in franchise history. “After 10 sickening seasons, the Drag Race phenomenon is just getting started,” RuPaul Charles said in a statement. “I want to thank VH1 for providing this amazing platform for a whole new generation of super talented drag queens.”
