ABC picks up Whiskey Cavalier starring Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan
Foley will play an FBI "super-agent" opposite Cohan's "badass CIA operative" on the action dramedy. But what does the pickup mean for Cohan's future on The Walking Dead? Cohan recently closed a deal to appear in six episodes of Season 9 of the AMC series. At the time, Deadline reported of Cohan's involvement with Whiskey Cavalier, "If the pilot goes to series, we hear she has been cleared to film TWD during her hiatus from the ABC show, though she would still need to negotiate a deal for that. If Whiskey Cavalier does not go to series, AMC can negotiate a full-time return for Cohan."

Lauren Cohan joins ABC pilot Whiskey Cavalier: Is she done with The Walking Dead?
Over the weekend, The Walking Dead showrunner Scott M. Gimple said he was "incredibly hopeful about" Cohan returning for Season 9 of the AMC series. “These things do happen in TV,” he told TV Line. “But we’re talking.” In the meantime, Cohan, one of the most popular actresses this pilot season, has signed on to co-star opposite Scott Foley on action-dramedy pilot Whiskey Cavalier, playing a fiery CIA operative opposite Foley's FBI agent. Her joining Whiskey Cavalier doesn't mean she's leaving The Walking Dead, since the pilot could still be rejected. Deadline also offers the possibility that Cohan could recur The Walking Dead for Season 9, even if she's attached to the ABC series.

ABC orders Whiskey Cavalier pilot starring Scott Foley
The FBI/CIA action dramedy finds the Scandal star playing an FBI agent with the code name “Whiskey Cavalier” who is paired with a CIA agent with the code name “Fiery Tribune” to lead a group of spies that “saves the world, one mission at a time." The potential series is from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence. ALSO: ABC orders Marcia Clark’s The Fix legal drama pilot that seems blatantly autobiographical.
